its 6 stages to havest a crop EVERY 2 weeks all year long. you could make it work with 4 stages, but some plants mature slower than others, and visa versa, so 6 stages is a good standard.

just get creative, you have the most important part, just grow one plant, you dont have enough light for more than that. You can make a grow box out of a cardboard box if you need to, just something to trap the light, one plant isnt going to stink up your house, just keep an incense running...

i would grow one plant and top it many times to get a bunch of tops. you can veg it and keep topping for as long as you want, you can have as many as 50 grow sites...

i get Canna Coco, right out of the bag and into my pots. It has excelent drainage but also retains water and nutrients better than any other planting medium. The only crappy thing is you have to find a certified dealer, and only a few growshops are willing to go through the hassle to bring...

oh i will! Pinching and twisting works, i've had to do that with a few of my plants. it works well with no decreas (that i can tell) in yeild.

thats just a good way to learn how to guage the amount of water. once it starts to dribble, pick it up, and remember that weight, when you water, strive to keep it about that. Its hard to give you an exact amount of water per pot, as every mix differs.

soil i would even strive for 5.9-6.4 for optimum nutrient intake. anything between 6-7 will keep you good though.

i personally water from above, but in the event i were to be away for a few days i wouldnt hesitate to throw a couple trays under there and fill em with water... i would rather come home to a little algea than wilted plants... perspectives right!?
