    Water ph question

Starting out you will need to adjust ph all the time due to the lack of nutrient/Ph buffers but once the roots are hanging down in the water you can slowly add your 1/4 strength fox farm nutrients and yes don't forget a small amount of cal-mag. Once the plants get a few nodes you can up the ppms...

    Proper Purging?

I have 2 extraction tubes, a heating pad, a jelly jar, and a mityvac...total cost $86. I only purge for my own use to make BHO from my trims & nuggets. Oh sure you can go ahead & get all that shit if you want but you can make quality purged BHO with rudimentary equipment. It's the quantity you...

    Running a sterile reservoir? (hydroponics)

Yup switched to aero/NFT for the same reasons. Hanging the roots in air eliminates the problems associated with roots hanging in water but then again I've got a whole different set of issues to deal with- but root rot seems to no longer be one of them for the time being

    Water ph question

Oh and use the metric system- ml are easier to calculate than tsp & tblsps when mixing up nutes

    Water ph question

The steps are thus: mix up your nutrients, add to the reservior, then check ph... Doing it any other way causes confusion & you'll be chasing your readings. I think it's easier to mix up the nutrients in a tub the same size as the res then just use a pump to transfer it in. One more tip- use a...

    Water ph question

Yes they do those will work just fine in your DWC. If you add the nutrients to the water as the recipe says your water should be 6.0 but that will change when there are roots from live plants hanging down there. However using the nutrients as directed on the label or recipe card you will burn...

might be getting to big!!!help me out

Here's the short answer- you'll need to either add side lighting or train them for an even canopy like a loose SCROG. Your top colas will be ok I think but yeah not much light will penetrate thick canopy without help...I use the 100watt per plant rule when it comes to HIDs but you can squeeze...

more than one plant per dwc bucket?

I was growing 4 plants in a single DWC tub for about a year- trouble is the roots will entangle each other into a giant mass rootball eventually. Plus when there's an issue with the res like bacteria it affects all of them. It is possible to transplant later but it will be a pain in the ass. I...

Ph keeps trending back to 7...ppms too low?

Ok well it seems 700ppm is the magic number though I believe I'm pushing the limits of what the plants can take. Ph has been stable since upping the nutes. Plants are lush and dark green but getting shiny. Also found that in fact I do need to churn up my res after a change or wait awhile to let...

Just took the advice of everyone who told me my ppms were too low in another thread....lol. was having issues keeping the ph down because they were taking nutrients so fast...700 seems to be the magic number but yeah I thought its too much too they are very deep green and shiny now..leaving it...

The PPms are now up to around 680 I was trying for 750 but Im leaving it there for the next couple weeks and adding back only water....ph seems to be stable for now and the res is now mostly full. I expected to go to 12/12 in 3 weeks but I think it may be more like 2.

I built both an aerocloner and a mini-aero cloner to fit in my small veg cab but have yet to produce some clones...the mamas are still babies growing in small pots or solo cups atm in the nursery but I am excited about all the new strains I'll have this summer: skunk #11, white lavender, blue...

    Water ph question

You can get away with just drops at first but a ph pen is a necessity. You'll need one when you fill your DWC with plants. More importantly you'll need a TDS pen to check ppms and mix up nutrients. Get some practice checking ph for sure but you are not going to see much action until you have...

No it's on topside of the unit for ez access -it's in the pic at the start of the thread I think you can see it anyway...its the red valve. I mention it because I added it almost as an afterthought but it's a vital part of the system. Use it everyday to check ph- which keeps slowly rising btw-...

The something out there will be a cork,a bamboo chopstick, & a small hole in the top of my res with a rubber grommet for light blocking the small hole..I will mark safe & low levels where determined -an ez fix. I installed a ball valve that you can use for getting water sample for ph/ppm or res...
