yea the age of them , even if they were kept right would be unlikly to sprout , i had some 3 year old ones and lost 30% of them

Yes you can do that with the Y bend , drawing air from the cool tube / hood , aswell as the tent air.

sounds like a nice system you have going , in regards to how many plants under a 600 would vary on a few factors like pot size plant size ect . i have 25 liter / 6 gallon pots i would managed 4-6 plants , but then if you had the light on a rail system could add more.
