I think you can dim down when fired it up at 1000W setting first. About the stem, maybe you can share the photo here if here is anyone came through the same senario and know the remedy. I suppose it means when in same weight CMH gives more flavor?

yep, its unfair to blame the fail on bulb everytime, ballast does play the most important role. our goal is made strong cmh can use on hps ballast, so grower save money on a separate ballast. LF normally is more friendly than HF to CMH indeed, but a good quality HF ballast is doing well also.
