one side not about the cfls, they emit light all around as any bulb does, so try to keep them covered / in a reflector like a work lamp reflector. i found mine at walmart or home depot for under 5 dollars. just helps direct your lumens where you need em most and doesn't waste them around open area.

dont go by time. look at the nodes. there should be 4-5 nodes before you can take a cutting. it may be done with less but for the plant to recover and stay healthy, id recommend that. good luck and happy growings
