    HPS info needed

In the add it says this: "• High power factor ballast with class H insulation. Minimum starting temperature is -40°C (-40° F) for HPS and -30°C (-20° F) for MH, MP and ML. U.L. listed and CSA certified" To me that implies that it would work for HPS or MH.

Mr. Boulderhead you always come through with the pertinent info! I am a bit of a tinkerer, and I don't mind. What I really am waffling on is the drive to get the damned thing if they accept a bid! 8P Trying to figure out who I could bribe to go up and get it! hehe

33 Days into First CFL Grow **PICS**

So from this picture, in my infinite newbness, I see like 7 potential bud sites. Four of them are fairly well developed (well... to me the look it! haha) I'm thinking of going into flower this weekend (Day 38). 1) Is this too early? I have a 2'x3'x4' space to grow the 4 plants. 2) Do I let...

Ugh!!! No thanks! hehe I was out in San Bernadino last weekend and it was 114deg. I would imagine growing in Texas would be similar! I couldn't live in heat like that let alone try and grow anything in it!!! lol

The last picture is of my Blue Hash plant. Its stem is like twice the size of the other three. Is that normal maybe based on strain? I've had fans on them pretty much from the get go since I'm in SoCal and it has been friggin' HOT down here. thanks,

    DIY Solar Panels

I always keep meaning to write some letters to a few of these companies and see if they could send me a few samples of their new (non-NDA) products to test/experiment with. I seriously think that if these tech companies possibly ran a 'beta' test for the interested 'Joe public' much the same...

Check this out: " I am the Senior Device Engineer for Innovalight (my qualification statement). What we have can be called a 'quantum dot' in the true sense of the the individual particle. What we really have is silicon nano particles that can be...

    DIY Solar Panels

Unfortunately right now PV cell's are very inefficient at the commercial use level. Right now I believe the best you can get is a 15% efficient PV cell (don't quote me on that). Which means that if you are putting out 100W of light, you would only be able to reclaim 15W of the light output...

    DIY Solar Panels

Unfortunately, the biggest problem isn't the power 'generation' technology.... it is our antiquated power 'distribution' system. Until we address the distribution problem, there will be no one 'magic' power source. The new technologies will thrive based on regional resources. ie...

    DIY Solar Panels

I'm gonna' run off on a tangent here. These pics are of my companies PV system (well... not 'mine', but the one I work for! ;P) All these panels constitute about 450kW of power and is responsible for 60% of our lighting bill. Also, the panels on the parking garage also act as a free charging...

Grow log from a 1st timer! Luv some help!

Yeah, that's why I decided to move into the garage. My shed is only like 6'x8' and it's metal. The amount of insulation to counter act the sun and noise would just not be cost effective. I've got a few hair brained ideas about indirect ground cooling and such, but right now I just don't have...

Hope someone has a patent on this!!!

Just found this on eBay. Has anyone seen these around at all? If you dropped 4x 40W 2900 lumen cfl's into this bad boy you'd be able to get 9600 lumen @ 160W over one plant. It's kinda' pricey($45) but I've already got a few ideas on a DIY one of these...
