Read FAQ SOG and Lollypopping-and the reason you don't feed in growbags until flowering, is as I say, the nutrients are there. They work.

I dig in deep (2-3') well rotted cow shit, and plenty of it. This year I will add 1/4 sack of perlite to each hole. When the plants are well up,and after a good rain I mulch the bases with more cow muck to help keep the moisture in. Works fine.

A grow bag is what it says. its a bag filled with soil, designed to be directly planted in. Advantage is, you can squeeze 'em up how you want them to fill odd spaces. I use them for tomatoes. just don't ovewater, and they contain nutes for vegging, so do not feed too early. they are "dirt" cheap...

On a different note, I noticed when I shone the blakray on some vegging plants how totally black they went, dark as dark could be absorbing every scrap of UV, reflecting none.
