Fox Farms is the shit..a little pricey..but definately good for newbies..just follow the feeding schedule. Gradually work your way up to full strenght..dont want to over do it. Transplant when the roots are sticking out of the plug and the plant looks nice and strong.

Ok, how big are your pots? Seems to me that you need at least a 3 gallon pot, maybe a 5, give the roots room to grow and search out nutes. From the stretch you have..the light might be to far away. Put your hand underneath canopy ..should stay there for4-5 seconds without burning your hand...
