True? Some white LED's put more blue light (430nm-ish) than ACTUAL blue LED's?!

From my research, i've learned that white LED's are actually just blue LED's with a phosphor coating. So that could explain the extra blue spectrum

A quick question of costley LED's

I wouldn't recommend building my own for the following reason; The high wattage LED's are mounted directly to heatsinks, much like the processor on your computer. So you would need to be able to work with metal core circuit boards and heat sinks in order to get a panel that runs cool enough...

    BloomBox

I was considering a Bloombox, but instead I just got a small growlab and outfitted it with the components of my choice. I still spent a decent amount on it overall, but it was much less than a Bloombox and has more vertical space. I have seen a few grow journals of people who have had success...

    phish water?

its called aquaponics. They have a setup at my local hydro shop. The plants and the fish have a symbiotic relationship, where the fish waste feeds the plants and in return the plants filter the fish water. The plants in that setup are always healthy, so it must work to some degree. But for...

    LED/Fluorescent Grow

Heres an update. It's only day two of flowering and I'm starting to see some buds forming! I apologize for the low quality pics, I never got a real digicam because I spent too much on grow supplies, but i'm hoping to get one for the holidays. If you notice the large amount of stretch...

I'm thinking the new generation High wattage panels have come to the point where they are able to give results equal to HID. I've only been in flowering for 2 days, but I'm getting the beginnings of a ton of real nice buds already. I think the LED's can actually veg better than a metal halide...

    LED/Fluorescent Grow

They get watered every 2-3 days, I don't think they're over watered. This is a sativa strain so the leaves tend to have that long, thin look to them. I've been judging the overall health of the plants by how well my indica plant is doing, and it seems to be doing fine.

My plants have been growing for a total of 3 weeks, 2 of which was vegetative growth, and are about a foot tall, maybe a couple inches less. Most of the growth has been nodal, so I definitely agree the plants are getting what they need to vegetate. Its definitely hard to sift through all the...

I noticed that growing with LED's I have more bud sites and more foliage in general than with HID, it's definitely great for the veg cycle. I'll be switching to 12/12 and bloom nutes as of today so we'll see what flowering brings

    LED/Fluorescent Grow

Because the plants are already starting to grow to the point where i don't know if i'll be able to manage them, I've decided to start flowering as of tomorrow. Its time to see what this LED is capable of.

    LED/Fluorescent Grow

Oh yeah, I meant to add that since I inoculated the soil with Mycorrhizae, I've noticed growth is a little faster. I use Great White from Plant success, but theres a ton of brands and I would recommend using any brand of mycorrhizae as you'll probably get results with any of them. One of the...

The light is a lumigrow ES-330. Heres a pic Heres an update on my grow. The plants are really starting to show their sativa traits. The last pic is sharksbreath, which is very much an indica

I'll be checking in on your grow for sure. I've found the T-5's in combination with LED produce just enough heat to keep my temps right where I want them. About 75 degrees with lights on and 68-70 with lights off. If heat wasn't an issue I would be supplementing with the 400W hps I have left...

This is my first go with the LED, but I'll definitely keep you posted when I harvest. I do know it vegetates better, with shorter node spacing and new growth coming off everywhere.

I don't like to tell anyone what to buy, but I really like the lumigrow unit. It lets you dial in the red/blue which helped me keep my stretching down, has a 5 year warrantee, and is made in the US. I personally bought it because I was able to see it in person at my local shop, where most...

    LED/Fluorescent Grow

Thanks for stopping in. The way I see it mixing LED, Fluoro, and HID is the ultimate artificial light source, I just can't control the heat HID's produce in my small area so LED/Fluoro is an excellent alternative, I'm not at all disappointed with the results i've gotten so far.

    LED/Fluorescent Grow

Thanks man I think I might actually take your advice on LSTing because the plants are already getting hard to water. My temps have been staying around 75-77 degrees ever since i put in the axial fan for active air intake. The T-5's I'm using have built in ballasts and stay relatively cool...
