We eat lots of fresh vegetables so there is always trimmings, limestone, greensand and Kmag for grit. Sprinkle Kelp Meal or Alfalfa Meal occasionally. Folgers grounds always. My other compost most of the time are Black Kow and Back To Nature Cotton Burr Compost. Brands are important.

10% of my mixes is castings from my red wrigglers and Belgium Crawlers, used to make teas also.

I will start a mostly new mix every few years, especially if I need some of my used stock for outside ornamentals. And I run a balanced and conservative mix of organic amendments.

Been reusing mix for over 10 years and it does get more forgiving over time. ROLS is a lot of fun. Mostly re-amend at about half what I would in a new mix. Compost/Castings and Peat Moss are in need of replacement, much more so than drainage components like NAPA 8822, Vermiculite or Perlite.

Space Monkey will test your carbon filter. I mostly get extreme pine and cedar with a little skunk ass on the exhale. All of the Wookie 15 male cross are incredibly “noisy” or “nosy”.

Topping can help not have big single kolas which seems to help with mold and rot. Yields are similar and topping will set things back about a week.
