I just got through with dosing my ladies with a very heavy dose of habanero/garlic/onion spray last week, didn't seem to effect the ladybugs at all. There were back the next day. That said, my ladybugs weren't placed and are all natural, so this isn't a purely scientific observation.

They're in pots, just pH your runoff. If you are 6-7, that's not the issue. I would lean towards it being that pheno but for sure check your runoff.
