How often do you cut growing shoots?

As plants flower, you can strip off the lower branches and in that way get more sugars to go to the tops, yes! This is not "topping". (and these cuts off the lower part of a plant make great clones, even three weeks into bloom). Your use of the word "topping" says you are cutting off the tops of...

    Young seedling/plants falling over

Okay, listen up: see if you can find a product called Oasis at a local hydro shop. It is a seed/cutting starting material that comes in sheets of 30 or 40 little 1 1/2" cubes with a hole in each one. These work much better than rock wool for many reasons. I would put two more holes in it and...

First Grow 10 days tell me how im doin

If you have to or want to use flourescent lites, at least get the high dollar grow bulbs like Agrosun Full Spectrum light bulbs. Cool whites don't do enough to get much growth out of a plant. Even cheap Grow Lux bulbs have more of the spectrum than a cool white. And get them out of transparent...

How often do you cut growing shoots?

Why are you "cutting" them? To make more flowers? All you will get is more "smaller" flowers, not more poundage, so to speak. You don't need to "cut" them after they start to flower. You only slow them down a bit as they try to heal the wounds you have inflicted upon them. Leave 'em alone, let...

    4 weeks into flowering, Question?

Judging from the pics of your "Friend's" plants it looks like they are eating themselves to death from the bottom up because of low nutes. Get a ppm tester, and give 'em what they need to stop the yellows on the bottom in order to make new at the tops.

    White Widow Germination

You are lucky because every time you touch those little critters you run the risk of killing them. See if you can find Oasis cubes near you and try them. They are similar to rock wool but I like them better. I punch two holes instead of the one center one so as to get two starts per cube. Cheap...

    Will flowering occur

Camping was a joke but the bag trick works if you are near by and the bags don't attract attention.

    White Widow Germination

likeblazin, you sure do go to a lot of trouble to germinate seeds and you really run the risk of killing the sprouts by handling them at all. It sounds as if seeds are a pretty precious commodity to you so the less you handle the whole affair, the better your chances of 100% success. If you...

HELP! My Grandpa is coming! Help help!!!

Nice thing about mylar (unless you stapled the shit out of it to the wall) is that you can take it down, turn it around and use the other side. If you are spraying, put up some temporary 1ml plastic sheeting (from home depot in 10' wide rolls) to cover the mylar. I had mylar on the walls for...

    Will flowering occur

They won't flower any sooner but will not grow near as much in a dense forest setting. Outdoors plants go by the sun cycle, no matter if it is direct light or not. You have no control once they are outside unless you cover them with black bags to achieve a 12-12 light cycle. You would have to...

HELP! My Grandpa is coming! Help help!!!

Mylar is great as plants actually grow towards it. Much better than a white wall and tin foil. Foil works but is hard to apply to the wall, tears easy, etc. Mylar can be had at a grow store, internet, whatever. Comes in rolls about 36" to 48". Hydro stores are your best bet to find it.

HELP! My Grandpa is coming! Help help!!!

Mylar is 100% reflective whereas white wall is a bit less, depending on gloss, satin or flat finish. Mirrors, no no! Mylar, yes yes. White butcher paper also works well and comes in big rolls that can be had at Costco or similar places. :hump:

    8 weeks into Flowering

Don't worry too much about dates on your flowering times. They are only general guidelines with plants as there are so many variables that can affect the final outcome, ie lighting, temps, air, noots, etc. Look closely at your plants and get ready to harvest when the trichomes (where most of the...

HELP! My Grandpa is coming! Help help!!!

Should have thought about Gramps before starting your "girl" and maybe Gramps is into bud and you don't know it???? As for the move, just do it. You aren't going to upset the apple cart too bad with a change in the time of light. If you do it too often, you may experience re-veg but two weeks in...

    12'X12' Space Lighting help please

4x1000 is a lot of heat, 8x1000 is a house fire waiting to happen! And, with 4 you will have some room to manage the gurlz. You will want to visit them all while they are growing, right??? Have you given any thought to track systems to spread the light area a bit? You wouldn't need to track...

    White Widow Germination

Don't fuck around with all the handling you did to your seeds. Get some stuff locally known as Oasis. It is a foam type product that comes in sheets of 1 1/2" cubes with holes pre-punched in them (also great for cloning but then I punch two holes in them and have two cuttings per cube which I...

    Help, Noot problem???

I am experiencing a leaf discoloration problem and don't know what is causing it. My plants are growing very well but a couple of them have leaves that are sort of variegated. They are not yellow or white but sort of gray/green and only half a leaf. Picture a five or seven segment fan leaf. One...

Help, leaves turning weird color and curling radially

I am trying a new approach to find out the problem with some plants that have been putting out variegated/curled leaves. When looking at a typical fan leaf with 5 or 7 points, picture one of those leaflets half healthy dark green and the other half a mottled gray/green, sort of like a bad...

    leaf discoloration????

I have leaves showing up on a plant or two that are variegated on half of a single leaf, dark healthy green on the other half. This is only showing up on some leaves of a plant, not all of them. And, some of the leaf tips curl radially, as opposed to up or down at the tips. I am using...
