SS420's new hydro grow - Blueberry, White Shark, ChemDog, OG kush

Hey bud! nice work on the grow. Question: have your roots started to grow through the holes in the bottom of your inner buckets down into the lower bucket? I'm near the end of week 2 of flower and probably 75% of my plants have roots growing through the inner buckets into the lower bucket. I...

Exhaust fan timed and temp controlled

Now that sounds like a good idea. Can you give a bit more detail for the electrically challenged? Any idea where I can get an appropriate motor speed controller? Specs for the controller? Is there any way to check if my fan is variable speed capable? (It's a Dayton 463 blower.) My thermostat...

Exhaust fan timed and temp controlled

True. I'm trying to avoid the cost of another fan. i would like to solve this for both my flower and my veg room and if there was a more efficient way rather than purchasing two more fans that would be great.

    SoG Grow Room Discussion

Thx SOG. I have a 50lb tank and running at 1500 ppm it lasted about 3 weeks. I still have some holes to fill so I'm hoping it gets better after the patching. Just tryin to get an idea of what I'm shootin for. Ladies are lookin nice. Best of luck!

Exhaust fan timed and temp controlled

But if it's 90 degrees outside you don't want to pull in a lot of hot air and burn up the plants, so you have to adjust the timer based on the day to day temperature? Or vice versa, if it 40 degrees outside you don't want to pull in a lot of really cold air and slow down growth either, right...

Experienced Electrician! Here to Answer Any and All Growroom Electrical Questions

In my veg room I have an exhaust fan on a TMP-DNe temp sensor so it kicks on when it gets hot in the room and turns off when the temp drops to a set level. Outside temps have been low recently so it's not turning on as often as it was when I set it up. I'm concerned that my babies may not be...

    SoG Grow Room Discussion

Hey SOG. The girls are looking great. Nice work. I was wondering how much CO2 are you using on average? Meaning what size is your tank and how often do you have to replace it? What ppm are you running? Thanks!

    CO2 usage

My grow room is 10x10x8. I have a 50lb CO2. I've been running my an average of about 1250 ppm. My room is not completely "sealed" in the fact that I am bringing in fresh air as needed to control temps. I'm using the CHHC-1 so that CO2 is not released while the room is being ventilated for...

    Sentinel climate controller reviews?

My grow room is 10x10x8. I have a 50lb CO2. I've been running my an average of about 1250 ppm. Running at that ppm my CO2 tank lasted about 3 weeks. Seems kind of short for a 50 lb tank but since it's my first grow I have no idea. There are some holes and things that I need to fill and...

    IntaKe and ExhAusT??

Yes, passive intake would be fine with a properly sized exhaust fan but I think he's asking if he needs an intake rather than not having any intake at all.

    Cooling my room is impossible

Have you measured the intake and exhaust temps for your light? Fairly certain that Al B. Fuct said that anything greater than a 6 degree difference means your light is heating up your space and you need to increase CFM or straighten out ducting. I feel you on the CO2/heat battle (see my...

    IntaKe and ExhAusT??

Unless you are using CO2 supplementation, intake is required. The plants use CO2 and once it's used up they stop growin.

The CFM remains the same but when you constrict the ducting the velocity increases (and causes the fan to work harder.)

    2 1000w hps 60sf need ventilation advice

Pull air in from outside but your dryer vent is just too small to be useful. I would recommend venting to outside or into the house. If you setup a y-split with dampers you could direct exhaust into the house in winter to heat the house and outside in the summer (you don't want more hot air in...

    First Grow - 3000w - Ebb & Gro - H&G - Sealed

So the girls went into flower last night. Hopefully I'll get some pics up soon. The ventilation/cooling system seems to be working well but will probably require another fan when the second set of lights are put into use. A quick update: I installed a Max Fan 10" 1000 CFM fan for exhaust...

Intake passive vs active, CFM recommendation

Slowly but surely I'm learning to listen. Sorry for the stubborn streak. I cut an 8" hole and installed an 8" backdraft damper and ta-dah! no more whistling and the negative pressure is greatly reduced. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Thanks, Mcgician, for leading...
