You should not grow, just lurk around these online forums, smoke with your friends, and study up until you have your own address. Trust me....

You just have to make sure that both the power strip and the extension cord are rated for the amps the ballast will be pulling. I would go with 9 amp rated equipment. Should be fine otherwise

Need more information, do you mean the ballast?

400 watts can be a lot for seedlings. To get them established you could save some power using a smaller light. even one or two fluorescent lights. The heat on the plants themselves and the soil drying out can cost you time by shocking or stunting the plants. Good luck and cheers

It is possible yes, but if you don't know how they work you probably will not be able to make them.... I'm sure you can order them online somewhere. The time and energy you would waste learning how they work and how to build them from whatever materials you could find would be more costly than...

I am skeptical at best. Pretty common theory that plants require light to photosynthesize....I don't think any article would get me to turn off my lights!

I would go with ducting the cool tube, temps can jump up fast when you're dealing with HID lights. I would say that a 4" vortex fan is good to cool the light, then you have to consider exhausting the room, calculate the cubic feet of the room, and get a fan that is rated to replace the air in...

one thing that is worth thinking about is the safety/efficiency of your equipment. Just looking at that stuff screams evening news. I say get stuff you won't stress about when you are out of the house.

If it is an option I would get another 6" fan and do one for each closet. Gotta keep air moving out especially if you are not going to vent the reflectors...I have a 4x4x9' closet and I use a 6" vortex to exhaust (through a filter) and a 4" vortex to cool my reflector. If it's hot and stuffy...

I think if you spent six months veggin them so big you should put them in 15 or 20 gal at least and give them some more time to establish roots. You will be glad you did because they will support way more flowers with a sufficient root system. Good work, That's crazy how good they look for...

If you want to do it right ditch the miracle grow next time, go to a hydro store and look at the soils they carry you probably won't find it...Keep reading, this site will help you a lot.
