I have emailed the seller and currently waiting for a response, still have not got either light to work so thinking it is a ballast or ceramic socket issue. Should my ballast constantly be running or is the turning on/off of the fan a sign that something could be wrong?

damn I tried unplugging/replugging back in prob 5 times. Still not working, i tried it with my other light that came with it too, still not working, it seems that the ballast fan is working in spurts?

I was very careful when I screwed in the 600 watt MH bulb into the socket and then I connected to my ballast, then plugged ballast in, it lit up for a second and hasn't worked since.. Did i just blow my first light? The ballast continues to run and it is the only thing running on my plug in...

It is a 1600 watt no name one from Canadian tire, cost $69 and I have not actually even used it yet to be honest. I will be using it to heat the 4x4 tent because I am growing in an unfinished basement that is not heated and it has been about freezing here for a couple months now..

Wow that is a lot of information! So technically I am safe as long as don't exceed 18 amps in my 20 amp socket. I can safely run my lights/fans on timer and then at time the space heater to come on at a very low setting throughout the night and maybe turn off an hour before my lights go back...

For my first grow, plants have been in rockwool for about a week and are starting to show roots. I am planning on using Promix soil from my local shop, they do not have Fox Forrest or anything fancy just basic soils. Will promix work ok? Should I go for any specific NPK to start my 2"...

I have my seedlings in 1.5" rockwool cubes... today i noticed that some of the roots are now coming out the bottom of the cube. Can I drop these in a soil mix now? Or should I wait to see more then one root come through?
