    Small Box Ventilation Question

yea dude with a smaller space like mine, (dresser 3' x 2' x 1.5') the CFL's heat the box up rather quickly. Hopefully I'll be able to push past in with this first set-up and invest in a cool-tube or air-cooled hps for the next grow (as i'm kinda nearing the end of my improvement funds for this...

    Small Box Ventilation Question

nah not really man they are the standard screw in, i had some plug in's but the ballast was too much of a headache. there is quite a bit of heat comin off the CFLS. I cut 4 holes in the mid-bottom section and gonna have a big fan blowing at the back of the box, hopefully this will increase airflow.

    Lights, Spectrums, And Vegging

well, adding more light would stimulate better growth in the plant, better growth=better yield. so it would grow better, perhaps a bit faster...not sure.

    SOil PH

hey guys, so if mix up your water-soluble nutes into water, and water your plants with them...it makes sense that some may be left over next time you water, but should you flush those remaning nutrients out, or just modify your watering so it raises the ph to your constant number?

    Small Box Ventilation Question

i'll give it a shot man thnx for the heads up. I figured with 2 outwards blowing fans would be enough to keep the hot air down, but I'm gonna try and drill some holes in the bottom of the backpiece to increase fresh air. I've heard of that ice trick, does it really work well?

    Organicare Nutrient regiment Question

Hey guys, got a nutrient question that hopefully can be clarified... I have been planning this upcoming grow for a while now, and I'm thinking I'm going to go with Botanicare's Organicare line of granular pure, with seaplex, calplex, and humega as supplements. I've also heard good things about...

    Small Box Ventilation Question

hey guys, had a bit of a ventilation question for ya. my space is about 6 cubic feet in area, and i have about 400w of CFL light...I had trouble bringing the temps down with just my (2) 120mm computer fans, (1 intake, 1 pushing out) so I bought a 250cfm fan, however...the temps still seem to be...

    Lights, Spectrums, And Vegging

hey man, good to hear your setup is up and running. I run 2 (105w) daylight spectrum bulbs, with 4 (47w) 2700k spectrum bulbs as supplemental lighting. I run these for veg and flower, all together it's about 400w of light with an even spectrum. I have heard that running more red than blue in the...

    4-pin CFL wiring question

hey guys just got some 4-pin cfl's and bases, and I was doing some research on how to wire 'em...unfortunately i couldnt find much. I know you have to have 2 seperate wires coming out on each end of the socket that you splice together and wire to the plug in. And it sounds like you just have to...

well i'm rockin on avg around 77 degress during the day with the lights off, and 85.5 with them on. still waiting to find out my temps when the lights are on and off at night (which i assume should be lower cause it's cooler outside). Temp/Airflow and Lighting Spectrum Question

hey stealth, thanks for the heads up man. The other fan I have at my disposal is a 120mm guy...so maybe i'll just toss him up with the 90mm's. I was thinking intake might be helpful to keep the air on the ladies but what you said does make sense, it's not so much about getting air in the box, as...

    Temp/Airflow and Lighting Spectrum Question

thanks for the input man, I wanted to try and get it down to something with a little more manageable in case of a heat spike, I've been reading a lot of people recommend only exhaust as it creates a vacuum effect. However I'd like to keep the ladies cool with some fresh air so I'm kinda on the...
