    Strain Recommendation: Medical

Grizzdude, thank you for your kindly advice. Although I moved away several years back, I'm a proud Oregonian and had access to Humboldt Co. and Southern Oregon strains as a young adult. Does Madonna bear any resemblance? The pain is tough to manage and I've been to every pain management...

430W Son Agro bulb in a 400W ballast

Cowboylogic, thanks. You were right - the FAQ did help. I still can't find a kit with 430W Phillips Son Agro bulb(s), 430W ballast, and reflective unit with some way to suspend and raise the unit.

    Oregon OMMP and Growers.

I just found Oregon Medical Marijuana Act 475.300 so I'm temporarily proud of myself. Any other help with questions in above post would be great.

    Oregon OMMP and Growers.

Born and raised in Oregon, I am relocating permanently. God, give me back NW 21st and Glisan, kitty-corner from the Blue Moon (my last Oregon address). I have state ID - not sure what else I will need. I'm looking for statutes to teach myself how to access legal permission to grow (card) and...

    Feminized vs Female

Ok then. It's like my amplifier. The dial goes up to eleven so it's louder. See, it goes past ten here.

    Strain Recommendation: Medical

Looking for help with pain management and insomnia. Prefer not to be couch-locked and love to keep active to best of my ability, both mentally and physically. Briefly, I was in an airplane accident and needed three surgeries to get walking. Damage was all spinal, all orthopedic: no paralysis...

    Feminized vs Female

I've noticed many Dutch seed banks have different categories for "feminized seeds" and "female seeds". Can anyone explain the difference?

430W Son Agro bulb in a 400W ballast

I think I might need a fact check on the Son Agro. I thought the philosophy was to provide a 30+W bump in the 500nm range of blue to stoke the brief indoor vegetative state while maintaining a strong 600-650nm orangish luminosity to facilitate subsequent flowering. Can anyone point me to a...

430W Son Agro bulb in a 400W ballast

Thanks, dyzel. I take it you don't believe in the hoopla surrounding the dual spectrum spikes in the Son Agro?

430W Son Agro bulb in a 400W ballast

I'm not an electrician and have heard arguments for both sides of this dilemma. 400W ballasts are in great supply. 430W ballasts are rare. 1) Is it safe to use a 430W Son Agro bulb in a 400W ballast? 2) Can the bulb draw any more than 400W of power? 3) Would either of the peak frequencies...

    Feminized seeds: percentage

People, you have been extraordinarily helpful and I appreciate it. If I can achieve the peace of mind, not to mention the effective use of space, it seems worth the extra bucks. Would anyone here know are they feminized hormonally?

    Vegetative period for indoor setup

People, this is SirTitianium, the OP. Thanks so much for all your replies and the good information. I miscalculated the square footage. It is 300 ft square, not 200. The space is full of oblique angles making it hard to measure (and ventilate). I wanted to ask Bonzi Lighthouse about tying...

    Vegetative period for indoor setup

I have 7ft (2.1m) ceilings in a 200 cubic ft (5.7 cubic meter) space. Assume I wish to keep 16 inches (40cm) from my 430W Son Agro bulb to the top of my growth. My soil is (roughly) the same distance off the floor. All of a sudden I have 4ft (120cm) of effective vertical grow space (I've...

    Indoor Growing Book

DarthD3vl, thanks for your opinions. It seems to slowly be growing into a consensus that the Cervantes book is, perhaps, better for a grower with some education under his or her belt. It's been a long time for me (solar-spectrum fluorescent bulbs for those of a certain age and memory) so the...

Experienced Electrician! Here to Answer Any and All Growroom Electrical Questions

I'm setting up. The only electricity inside the closet is a celing lightbulb. Can that be usurped by the ballast?

my inline fan is to powerful

Are you sure a simple rheostat wouldn't work? It worked with my computer fans. Also, is this connected to tubing to circulate/vent? If so, you could port the tubing.

    Switchable Ballast versus Son Agro

Has anyone tried a 1:1 test using same seed, same soil at the same time under the same schedule to eval the Son Agro vs switchable ballast. I understand the inter-nodal length to be diminished with Son Agro but am having trouble understanding why there's no tradeoff by having the blue spectrum...

what kind of bulbs should i use for flowering!?? trying to leave n buy now!!hellp plz

Nobody has ever been able to explain to my how this can't be better than the philosophy behind the Son Agro, i.e. having both vital spectrums simultaneously. You need each spectrum at a different time in the life cycle. Why wouldn't emulating that with a switchable ballast be best?

    Soil germination

When I was younger I tried exactly that until I realized after 5 or 6 days that I couldn't see the seeds and had no clue where they were. That's the Achilles' heel of your idea, I think.
