    simple lighting question???

You can use the blue spectrum to flower but your yield will be pathetic. Get some bulbs between 2000-3000k. If you're on a tight budget I recommend getting this bulb. Remove the spaces from the link where you find them. Happy growing! http://www.e-conolight.com/...

On the lookout for an easy to clone mother

Alas I would have hoped that commercialism hadn't entered this scene. J's Diamonds look very tempting as a mother now but I'm afraid that much of what is said has been put out by the breeders. Any impartial review sites available? I would guess here but everyone loves their baby and you'll get...

When to transplant from RW to soil....

You can bury the rock wool at any time; may as well do it now. Yes you can put them under the MH now, just make sure you have it far enough away so they don't fry. Providing you can keep the temperature under control, they should thrive under it. Happy growing!

On the lookout for an easy to clone mother

I do seem to recall reading some strains don't lend themselves well to cloning. As for the HT Top10, they looked beautiful, better than porn.

On the lookout for an easy to clone mother

Okay, here's the deal. I'm on the lookout for an easy to clone mother plant and since this is a one time investment, naturally I want it to be the best. So I'm looking at the High times top 10 for 2008 (listed below) for inspiration. Anunnaki White berry The black Brainstorm Haze...

What do you use for propagating clones?

I want to know what rooting powder/gel you use and what you place the cuttings in? I don't particularly wish to use aeroponics, but rather cubes. To date I've been using organic rooting powder by growing success and frankly it is rubbish. I don't have any more success when using it compared to...

Lowryder Dwarf Mix HPS & CFL Grow

I do when switching to a new container. As I understand it, it encourages the roots to grow downwards in search of water. I'd also imagine it would be quite difficult to get root rot that way.

    400W MH question +rep!!

I wouldn't worry about stretching clones. If you've only just taken a cutting they want indirect light until they've properly rooted. If they get too much light before this occurs they'll lose more water by evaporation than the roots can take up and they'll wilt and die. Many root with a low...

    flower power

Try and keep the temp between 72-78F when the lights are on with a 5-10 degree drop at night. It is quite a forgiving plant though so don't worry if you're slightly out.

    flower power

You can flower it now if you have time or space restrains. Personally I'd leave it at least get to 12-18 inches. The plant will between double and triple in size during flowering. It is really up to you, the longer you leave it in vegetation, the more budding sites it'll have and the more it...

does this sound like it's feasable?

http://www.e-conolight.com/ Product/EProductDetail.asp? ProductFamilyID=7&FGNumber=E-MT6H151G Sorry that the original link didn't work, this one does just delete the space where you find them. :) 15000 lumens of HPS goodness. You'll probably want to remove the glass covering, which removes...

does this sound like it's feasable?

You don't have to spend $150 for HPS. A lot of people have had some good result with the $20 150w HPS (link provided below). It is true that everything you do now is a valuable in terms of what you learn but if you want a yield then you should consider investing in one of these. I honestly...

    Advice strongly needed

If you want the side branches to catch up then you should consider FIMming it. To elucidate, you snip the apical bud (very top growth shoot) leaving about 20% of it behind. This will encourage the plant to make those side shoots tufts grow into proper full sized branches. In addition to this...

    male rite?

I'm afraid so friend. Still, all is not lost, you can still make hash from it.

    square footage questions

HPS does throw out more lumens than MH does and it that lovely red spectrum that flowering plants love. Personally, I grow exclusively under a 400w HPS but then again, most of my crop are autoflowering which more or less do away with the vegetative stage of growth. The little stretching it...

    need some help please

I assume you mean 18/6 unless you have some weird 22 hour timer. No it shouldn't really cause any stress. I prefer to have a few hours of darkness in there; one has less issues with heat buildup. The fan will help prevent mold and strengthen the stems so keep it on; lowering the humidity will...

    square footage questions

Well, the MH will work beautifully for vegging the plant but it leaves A LOT to be desired when it comes to flowering. For that you'll want a High Pressure Sodium (HPS) bulb. If money is tight (isn't it always?) you can buy a HPS conversion bulb which will work in a MH ballast. If you use the...

    square footage questions

That is a difficult one! I'd be inclined to go for the 1 gallon pots unless your using feminized seeds. Since you have height restriction, you probably won't be vegging them very long anyway. After sexing you can move the females to the 2 gallon pots. It's going to be a tight squeeze so...

Lowryder Dwarf Mix HPS & CFL Grow

I went over them with a fine tooth comb (metaphorically speaking). Good news and bad news I'm afraid. The Good news is I have 2 females, the bad... well my 2 favourite plants are both male! 1 Is still unidentified. I'll leave it a couple of days to make sure about the males (I'll not so...
