Lowryder Dwarf Mix HPS & CFL Grow

Small bushy plant? It looks like a giant compared to either of my females. It is lowryder you're growing right? Starting to bud rather nicely. Keep up the good work. :)

    When to clone?

I read in the FAQ that by keeping a portion of the stem dark for a week or two by wrapping some tape around it (called etiolation) helps rooting. This suggests that taking clones is best done in the dark period. Is my speculation correct or does it need to be kept in the dark for a week or...

    Will This Get Bigger?

The bud sites will put on more weight, especially during the last 2 weeks of flowering. It does, I'm sad to say look a tad stretched but growing is a learning curve. Next time get yourself some better lights and some mylar for your set up. Happy growing :)

    Ten Myths of Lighting Revealed

Spot on; this should be added to the FAQ. *Sighs* if only more people checked it before posting. +rep

What do you love doing most whilst in a high state of mind

Juggling, sometimes contact juggling; having the acrylic ball run over your skin is very satisfying. The higher I am the more I want to play, however, my motor coordination skills seem to go down proportionately. It's all rather frustrating really.

    Auto-Flowering Dwarf Plants

I'm currently growing Lowryder 2 which is an autoflowering dwarf. Yield wise, they sadly don't compare. If it is yield you're after then just go for a normal one and veg it for a while. You get more bud/time growing with normal ones. They do however have their place in growing. You do not need...

    What about those 3 others?

Females generally show sex later so there may be hope still. If it is any consolation, I got 2 out of 10 being female. I have the rest of my growroom dedicated to tobacco, parsley, chives, dill, lettuce and peyote to make it "worthwhile" having the lights on. For the record, HPS is much better...

    Armoire Stealth grow problems-need help!

This is only speculation but is there any chance you're damaging the roots when transplanting from aerophonics to soil? You want the temp to be ideally between 72-78F, 85 borders on heat stress in my setup. In my opinion HPS really will outdo CFL when it comes to flowering so I wouldn't switch...

    Nutes???

I'm growing LR2 and they don't like much in the way of nutes. If you're growing in reasonable soil then you probably won't need to add any until they're half way through. Then you only add 1/4-1/2 recommended dosage unless, of course, they're showing a deficiency. Happy growing!

Did I make a good choice?

Certainly nice genetics! For your first grow most recommend you use bagseed and save your money for proper lighting/ventilation/odor control equipment. Growing is a learning curve made, on the most part, through trial and error (predominantly error). If I was you I'd plant no more than half of...

    1st grow. Curly,dying leaves.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that it is a heat issue. You should be aiming to keep your temp between 22-25.5C. I don't know what strain yours is but I've noticed the beginnings with heat stress once my plants hit 30C.

    hey yall grow room temp

Greendude is completely right. Once you hit 90F then you're likely to start suffering heat stress.

How many people know about your grow?

I really thought growers would be better at keeping their mouth shut considering the number of stealth grows that go on here.

    how much dirt

A general rule of thumb is 1 gallon of soil for every foot of height. So 3 foot would be 3 gallon pots. If you want to give them more than they'll ever want try 5 gallon buckets. Happy growing!

LADY BUGS! good? bad? or neutral?

I could do with a couple of ladybirds. I keep finding a few aphids in my grow room despite my daily inspection and clearing of them. They haven't touched the weed yet but they're attacking my tobacco and parsley. Ladybirds are your best friends, do as growtech says and make sure they don't get...

No one! Sadly people talk. If you yourself cannot keep a secret, how can you expect others to?

    Dehumidifiers increase yield?

There is some speculation that says it increases THC content. The theory goes that to prevent the plant from drying out, it increases the amount of oil produced to prevent water loss from transpiration. Regardless of if this is true or not, not losing your bud to mold makes keeping the humidity...

    is vermiculite good to use?

Mix some in with your soil. It'll increase the drainage wonderfully and reduce your chances of your babies developing root rot. Happy growing!
