im a little confused about ph

It's phosphoric acid you want ideally but I think Sulphuric acid would work. Be careful not to over do it though.

Tricks of the trade; increasing THC content.

Bah, it seems the UV lights I have are 100 out from the peak frequency quoted on the page. Think it is worthwhile putting them on anyway? If not, eh well, they still have their use for making my contact juggling balls glow pale blue. Soo pretty.

im a little confused about ph

No need to flush just start watering with pH 6.5 water from now on. You can use pH 6 water to try and bring the soil pH down for the first water or two. Patience my friend, you plants should come through this.

    Winter Greenhouse?

Without artificial lighting, the light cycles will be all wrong. I know some people grow 12/12 from seed but with the onset of winter you'll get even less hours than that; assuming you can overcome the cold problem that is. All you can really do is prepare for next years grow, build a womery...

Tricks of the trade; increasing THC content.

By planters do you mean the growing medium? Or allow the plant to die and dry out before harvesting? If it is the former I may well give it a try; cannot do any harm.

    Auto flowering seeds pros/cons?

I'm currently growing LR2. Their largest con in my opinion is the very small yield, if you get a normal strain and veg it for a couple of months you will get much more for your time invested. They do however have their place within growing. Because they flower under 18/6 or 24/0 they make a nice...

Tricks of the trade; increasing THC content.

It seem by consensus that the strain plays the largest role. Thank you guys for your input and keep it coming. :)

Ok, i need suggestions on my lights i bought

CFL's can be used effectively for vegetative growth but as LA said, you'll still need a HPS for flowering. MH and HPS will save you in the long run because of the lumens/watt is that much higher. Electricity isn't cheap now and it'll only get more expensive.

    Has anyone used cannabisseeds.com?

That screams scam to me but if anyone has a spare bit of cash, I'd love to know if they deliver. It does sound too good to be true.

I was indeed, apologies for being ambiguous.

Tricks of the trade; increasing THC content.

I am wondering what tricks you people use to get the most THC out of your flowering plants. The most convincing one I've come across is leaving it in the dark for the last 24-72 hours. Less convincing methods I've come across include using UV and decreasing the humidity drastically. Any...

Lowryder Dwarf Mix HPS & CFL Grow

When can you expect to start seeing trichomes with this strain; any idea? BTW nice profile picture, the top cola is forming rather nicely.

Need help finding lights first timer here

I'd be tempted to get 2 of these cheap beauties if I lived in the US. At $20 and 15000 lumens a piece (means 30000 lumens in total, 5000/sq foot) you'll be hard pressed to get the same light output from CFLs at a similar price. The link is too long to post on this forum so cut and copy it...

    1000 watt hps setup

I was referring to the electricity bill as being the investment but you'll also need fans (intake and exhaust), pH metre, pH up and down, nutrients, odor control etc.

question for those who "have a partner in crime" in growing

Don't do it friend. In addition to the fact that it'll lead to money squabbles, people talk. You will be adding a large security risk. Wait until next year and grow outdoors, gorilla style if money is still lacking for the necessary equipment.

    Pot size?

A general rule of thumb is 1 gallon per foot of height. 60cm is 2ft which translates to 7.5L. I'm assuming this rule of thumb was in US Gallon. If it is in Imperial Gallon then it translates to 9L.

    Ed Rosenthal's Super Pruning

Don't cut them all the way the way to the stem, leave about 1/2-1 inch of it behind. The reason behind this is some of the remaining stem will wilt away as the plant heals the cut. If you cut it right next to the stem this can result in a weakness which, in turn, can result in it toppling under...

    ~What Is RO Water?Should I Use It??!!~

RO = reverse osmosis. You have the right idea, the pH should be 7 and the ppm very close to 0. Have you considered collecting rainwater? It's free and the pH should be close to what you want (acid rain and all). Happy growing!

    Botanical questions

You want to get oxygen to the roots not carbon dioxide. It's the leaves which are the photosynthesis machines. Lay off the sparking water. You can use bottled water but you'll soon find yourself sick of lugging it back. It is also stupidly uneconomical and unenvironmental considering all the...
