Well, yes and no...i always have a stash of perlite laying around ;-) but the soil i got which is BioBizz Light already has perlite mixed into it so I didn't add anything.

I'm gonna jack up the light schedule to 20/4 to see what happens...the cfl i'm using is pretty powerful and not your ordinary household lightbulb...for now i don't forsee having to lst it but maybe if you think it'll help because of light exposure let me know...i'll give it a try. Like I said...

Only method i've ever known to use and works like a charm, especially as a preventative measure...just be careful with the amount of dish soap and use organic and/or non perfumed if possible.

yep it's a 200W Phytolite CFL Greenpower Agro (2100K). It's a big mfer, about 18 inches long and 3 or 4 inches in diameter. I use a reflector and then that white plastic to cover the inside of the box for better refelction. That's why I'm not too worried about the heat or fire issues from it...
