ok my setup is as follows t5 for clones and seedlings 400 mh for veg 600 hps for flower for each stage how far should i keep the light from the top of plant? also i have like 10 bright white 23w cfls would these help at any stage? or should i just get rid of them?

today i got a 2'x2' 8bulb t5 it has 4 3000 and 4 6500 will this work for seedlings and clones or should i have 8 3000 or 8 6500? for best results? this will only be used for clones and or seedlings.

ok so i bought some stuff off of craigslist 2day everything is in great shape. my question is???? i got a 600w hps ballest and bulb then i also have a 400w hps ballest and 400w mh bulb it works fine just woundering if i will run into any problems using the hps ballest for a mh bulb?

ok here goes. what can i use for vegging in place of MH? i have CFLs for seedlings, and clones and i have HPS for flowering i dont want to have to buy ballest mh and hood if there is another rout?? i have diffrent rooms for each step clones, veg, flower, and cure so the mh/hps switchable ballest...

i am going to be placing my seeds in wet paper towl to start after that 1) what would be a good soil to use? that i would be able to get at home depote or lowes? i will be using 23w cfls for this step 1)how many should i use? 2)how long should i leave them in cups under cfls? thanks in advance...
