Your set up sounds like mine, but mine is wooden. I tried the exact same thing to maximize the usage of the light and found that my temps are a lot cooler with a cool tube. Check out my DIY Cool Tube and look at my box to see it in action.

Cause its a lot simpler, quicker and cleaner. Lol But the luxury of having this hobby is that you make the best of the things you already have without spending any extra. If you have a idea, make it work and post a how-to if it works, just take tons of pictures along the way. Hope it works...

If its the only thing you have and don't wanna spend any extra money on lighting, you could make it work. But it would be more ideal for supplementary lighting

Try to make things as simple as possible so anxious growers can get started. Its stressful knowing what you want but spending money of shit you thought was gon work. I do it all the time. lol

If you aren't experienced enough with controlling temps, I recommend the 400w to start off with just to know how to do minor tweaks in ventilation and stuff. But thats for smaller areas and cabs that you want to have HID lighting in.

Thats because thats a picture looking through the fan before the vent. Look at the last picture with the vent attached.

No leakage but with without multiple coats of paint you may get a slight glow.

I think it would be good for passive intake. I had passive at first but my exhaust was too strong and it wasn't doing anything for my temps. good luck! and thanks
