2014 first outdoor grow Northern California looking for honest opinions

BTW, you can fill that pot with soil. She will thank you for it. The more soil, the more buds. Rooting gel coating the soon-to-be-buried stem might help add new feeder roots as well.

2014 first outdoor grow Northern California looking for honest opinions

Give the potted plant a tablespoon of 21-0-0 in five gallons of water. A teaspoon of Epsom salts(Magnesium) would add insurance. DRENCH it! Don't make it any stronger, though. Yellowing is usually caused by a shortage of Nitrogen and/or Magnesium. The yellowed leaves may not regreen, but new...

    Stem Problem " drying out"

According to "Hemp Diseases and Pests", the Russet or 'Rust' mite would do considerable damage to the leaves. I'm beginning to think it might be some sort of stem borer or bark eater. A rat or mouse might firle a large stem, but would deo it near the ground. How about providing the best pix...

    Stem Problem " drying out"

It looks like the 'wood' inside the stem is discolored as well. I'm really baffled by this. Is the stem hollow? Are there any critters inside?

    Stem Problem " drying out"

It isn't killing the whole plant at once? I've never seen anything like that. I'd say get very serious with Azamax or the like. Safer's soap too. This is all out war. Don't procrastinate!

Just started plant outdoors in a pot

Ok.. It is late in the season to start. What is your average first frost date? Back up 8 weeks from that date. That is the date you want the plant to start the budding process. It will take about four weeks to show sex which will be the day it starts flowering. It sounds like you are pretty far...

    Organic Top Dressings ?

Mulch heavily with leaves and grass clippings. Add some 'red wigglers' after watering deeply, if they aren't already present. Those worms will turn the mulch into fertilizer in a few weeks. Mulch at least 6 inches thick for water retention and to cool the soil. You can spend yourself into...

    Mad skills with grafting

Thanks for that! I need to find out how to graft peach trees. I have the best tasting peaches on an old tree in my back yard. I need to graft it soon. I'd hate to lose it.

To top? or not to top?

Exactly! Don't pinch! It is too late, without costing you some serious buddage. Use wire to bend them over if they're too stiff to go through the remesh. I saw your pic, and thought you'd pirated my pix. My fig tree is next to one of my grow beds like yours. GOOD munchies!

    Fert/ nute burn.

I think you're right about getting a stronger dose from the bottom. I prewater before feeding, as well. I've found, over many years that some plants are sensitive, to the point of an allergic reaction. I've had six foot plants suddenly, and literally 'collapse' for no visible reason. I never...

    Michigan outdoor

Probably, but why give them a slam dunk? One thing I believe is that our legal system is badly broken. It is the World's largest criminal conspiracy. If they want you, they'll take you, and invent charges. If you are smarter than them, they'll kill you, in your home, on the street, or in jail...

    Heavy/Oversized fan leaves.

Beautiful big sun leaf. The largest I've found in my garden was a Durban Poison 9 fingered wide body whose central blade was 12 3/4 inches long from the 'eye'. Those DPs are huge producers.
