when do outdoor plants start flowering in california?

All mine are now showing flowers to varying degrees. The 1st of August is a good average. Most plants are ready to harvest in the first two weeks of October, plus or minus a week or so.

Is it good to constantly heat up the soil ?

That isn't exactly true. Smart pots are popular because they allow Oxygen to reach more roots. Rapid evaporation isn't really a plus. I'm guessing the best growers use a slightly heavier soil mix to help retain moisture.

Is this plant ready - pictures

Trichome color is the key. Get a 30X magnifier or stronger. If thetrichs are all cloudy with a few amber, they are ready. Tastes vary. Some folks like very little amber, or even none. Others may prefer up to 25% amber. Experiment.

Is it good to constantly heat up the soil ?

This sort of noob needs the benefit of EXPERIENCE. After he kills a few hundred seeds and plants, he might buy a grow book, and get a clue.

How does, "No, don't do it." sound?

Is it good to constantly heat up the soil ?

Yes, soil should be allowed to dry out, some, but not too dry. Too dry can easily occur in a container. I wouldn't push waiting to water. Pick a cycle and stick with it. 2,3, or four days. Whatever fits your conditions. I start my plants during the winter and use warming pads to keep soil temps...

Is it good to constantly heat up the soil ?

You can warm the soil a bit, but overdoing it will kill your plants. Cannabis can't tolerate a completely dry soil medium. It wilts easily until well into flowering. Keep soil temperatures between 60 and 75 degrees, and the soil, moist. A consistently damp(not wet) medium is best.

    Indica/Sativa

I think you'd gain some bulk if you stopped taking her in. If it is truly indica dominant, it should continue blooming, but gain energy with the longer day. Just a guess at this point.

Is it to late to get started?

Yes, You can start today IF your plant will finish in eight weeks and your first frost date is later than that. Otherwise, save your seeds for next Spring.

doublejj's BIG 2014 greenhouse adventure Reloaded......

I have a strain called Cherry Kush. A very vigorous and productive hybrid. Regarding trimming, I do my own, by hand. Its a slow process due to arthritis but I hate seeing the 'waste' from power trimming. They knock off trichomes and are useless on buds that are not perfectly shaped. plus, they...

    clipping branches

I'm very satisfied with my yield/weight off my plants. Some strains produce denser buds than others. Expertly grown indoor grows are denser, and a bit more potent than outdoors. Based on a lot of experience, indoor growing changes the composition of the Cannabinoids.(shorter lasting effects)...

    clipping branches

After all these years, I'm still trying to figure out why people want the high density nuggets. I don't think it improves flavor or potency, and actually makes prepping it for joints or pipe weed more difficult. I'd rather have looser buds, full of trichomes. Just my personal observation.

    clipping branches

You'll be happy with your decision. Those little buds will get you high when all the pretty stuff is gone. After my worst ever season, last year, I went crazy this year. My cage and two greenhouses are stuffed this year, and just beginning to bud. I'll be adding an extra fan in each greenhouse...

    Questions about caterpillars in Veg.

Read the bud worm thread at the top of Outdoor Growing. If you read the last few pages, you should find everything you need to know. Bt is the BOMB. I've used it for about 30 years. I originally used it to kill Horn worms on my tomatoes. Another grower told me about bud worms, so I started...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

Exactly Clean water from the tap. Pretty much like a medium to heavy rain. I stop spraying and washing when the buds are dense enough to hold water. Around here about the time dew begins to form in the mornings. I REALLY doubt that Bt is present in a heavier concentration than other bacteria...

    Cloning outdoor plants, need answers!

If you aren't trying to preserve the strain, but just add more 'plants', I'd suggest skipping it. There is just not enough time. You're just reducing the yield of the branch you snip off. JMHO.
