Yea man there's a lot of selection out there. On my current first grow I just kept it simple and used Miracle Gro Moisture Control soil. It's about 3-4$ a bag at Home Depot. I'm still not sure on what nutes I will use but I haven't yet so I'm on the same boat as you lol.

I used a dish rack, I just removed the screen from the outter border of the rack. You can also use a shelve piece that is made from plastic covered metal wires like my screen. Try hitting up stores that have home products. Last resort would be to make your own out of wire, yarn or something. Not...
