A plant's sex is determined before you even germinate the seeds...just like everything else on this planet. Sex is based on genes and you cannot alter somethings genetics after it is born.(except maybe through genetically engineered viruses...?) I heard this seed selection method works:

At just 13 watts, I would assume the lumen output isn't that high. You would probably want at least 2 per plant. I would like to see an "LED only" grow to see how good they really are.
