This i have the answer too,yeah you just plug it and go, they are great ballast's,if it has a super lumens switch you will get up to 27% more lumens per watt if you use a hps bulb!!!!

I grew my last veg stage on 2*225 watt blue spectrum cfl's and had my best veg growth results ever,was using floro tubes prior to that, but have to say the big cfl's rock for veg growth,tried flowering with the same bulb's in red spectrum and quickly switched back to my trusty hps!!!!! Good...
