    Swapping to LED for Summer

Yeah in most applications, 50w sq/ft would be complete overkill. Better have some heavy duty ventilation/CO2 supplementation. Or they would be doomed. Especially in a tent. I think tents can be a good idea, but I also think they are a recipe for having a hard time to get enough fresh air...

    Swapping to LED for Summer

I use 40w sq/ft as a guide. You have basically 4 sq/ft. 4 x 40= 160w. At that rate, a 160w, would be fine. But one can buy a bit more powerful light, with dimming function, and wont run the light as hard. At that rate, 200w would work. Just make sure the light has quality LED chips.

    LED vs H.I.D

All I can say is, the SUN, has Far Red, and it could also be the case, when they add specific Spikes, to the spectrum, with artificial light, this is Not the same, as having every nm, in the spectrum, not just Peaks. I liken LED vs Halide, like I do with Guitar Pedals, and Musical Playback...

    LED vs H.I.D

There is more to it, than weight. Many many large scale growers still use DE HPS. Pharma companies in Japan, doing experimental research on plants in general, use a Hortilux Blue, as they say it produces more chemicals, which for medical research, would be very important. MMS released a study...

    LED vs H.I.D

In terms of energy, sunlight at Earth's surface is around 52 to 55 percent infrared (above 700 nm), 42 to 43 percent visible (400 to 700 nm), and 3 to 5 percent ultraviolet (below 400 nm). At the top of the atmosphere, sunlight is about 30% more intense, having about 8% ultraviolet (UV), with...

    LED vs H.I.D

The article ays the equipment, is not accurate enough to test above 800nm, but says, not enough study has been done to determine effects above that range. The effects and potential economic benefits of near-infrared radiation – optical radiation with wavelengths longer than 800 nm – have yet to...

    LED vs H.I.D

I use 2 of them, with a 1000w HID, for each 4 x 4 area, at 24 inches, and slowly build up the duration to 4 hours per day, but also still watch at the reaction the plants have to it. I also use often use a Blue Heavy Hortilux Blue or similar type of bulb for flowering, with a 6000k-6500k...

    LED vs H.I.D

Some strains, that didnt evolve around high UVA/B waves, may not benefit much from UVA/B supplementation, is what I understand. It is strain dependent. Also it isnt really about increasing the NUMBER of Trichomes, it is about CHANGING THE CHEMICAL PROFILE. It is also totally incorrect to state...

    Extreme yellowing mid/late flower...?

While I use Promix BX, and water by hand,. When I use chemicals, I use Master Blend 4-18-38-15.55-0-0 Calcium Nitrate- Epsom Salts. I start off right of the bat, with Seedlings at about 10% of recommended full dose, and slowly, over the weeks, increase the amount I am giving them. In Veg, I...

    LED vs H.I.D

Here is a very interesting study about the SUN vs Artificial Light Grown Marijuana. They also do not specify if they used LED, or HID. My guess is they used LED, which is the current thing for many. Also not claiming that Halide is the Equal of the Sun, but, a Halide, is 100% for sure, the...

    LED vs H.I.D

Its true HPS will produce more weed. BUT, some tests have shown, weed grown under Halide, had chemicals that were MISSING, when grown under LED-HPS, that were also present, using the sun.

    LED vs H.I.D

Halide-Specifically 5000k-6500k, have a MUCH WIDER SPECTRUM, than any LED ever made for commercial use. A Hortilux Blue, has a 6500k rating, and a Spectrum of 280nm-2400nm+. Aint no LED that can come anywhere near that spectrum. The new MMS 1000w Halide, is 6500k, and 15%-20% more powerful than...

    enough lights

To best light up a 4 x 4 area, and what would be considered the upper target for light application, to maximize your grow space. One needs about 40w sq/ft, to equal HID. Hortilux HPS, is 62.5w sq/ft, and would be considered the upper limit needed for a 4 x 4 area. You would need about...

El Jefe Gardens Skelly/Puck Hashplant S1 Seeds via Darkstar420710 on Strainly

I will say that with the PNWHP/Puck, it varies in that, I found both Wider Leaf types, and more Narrow Leaf. While Ive never seen the actual PNWHP, or the Puck. I wonder if it PNWHP, is more Narrow Leaf. Seems the Puck S1s, are all Broad Leaf. Bob Hemphill said his repro of the PNWHP-BC2, is...

    DLI uv lights

From what it looks like to be, the bulb you linked, doesnt go below 315nm, as the Solacure, has its strongest rage from 280nm-305nm, which this bukb, cannot duplicate, and is 150w vs 32w for the Solacure. You can also run the Solacure, at a higher output. It alo looks to me, this Fixture, would...
