Home Depot has them. They are made by Phillips, it doesn't say anywhere on the box AT ALL. But pull the bulbs out and they will say on the ballast "6500K daylight"

As long as it is dark in there when the plant is flowering and on its dark cycle. Make sure its in your closet with complete darkness, and have the lights off when you are asleep and make sure no light gets in there while they are off!

thas cool i was thinking on doing a continuous 12/12 cycle grow... half way through every plants cycle i will plant more... you get the idea... have 2 plants ready for harvest then have the next set ready a month later.. I think that would be dope as hell

They are 15 days in from sprouting, but at about 6 days i had a heat problem and they got burned, but all thats fixed now, i know they slowed down quite a bit but now they are going in full force again. They are under 5X 23 watt 6500k CFLs and 2X 2700k CFLs right now.... the bulbs are all above...

Also Home Depot has Phillips 6500k 23 watt bulbs in stock always. It doesn't say ANYWHERE on the box but just pull a bulb out and it says on the ballast!

Also is it possible that my lights are too close? The leaves seem to not be growing very far out but they are getting thick! Seems like everything should be extending more?

Random question even though no one looks in here - how long until I have a fully grown leaf? I really want to cut one off and dry it out for some reason... I have never touched an actual leaf in my life. heh

They WILL work, despite what anyone says. But the 6500k will produce faster growth and healthier plants. I think its worth it for you to buy them... just get one here and there until you have enough because they aren't going to make or break your grow!

whats the expected yield from only a party cup?

I am going to start flowering next friday for sure. The plants are clearly starting the stage where they say they grow 1 inch per 24 hours so they are going pretty quick now. They still havn't passed like 1 inch in height but the leaves are filling in so fast i cant beleive it!

Put in 1 more 6500K 23 watt bulb and 2 more 23 watt 2700k bulbs for a total of 250 watts for the 2 main plants... but there are still 2 that are coming back to life so well see

Here they are again! Is the growth rate starting to be normal now? I know they aren't as big as they should be for 13 days in, but are the picking up to a normal pace?

I just did something I dont know why I havn't thought of earlier. Instead of having the only 4 6500k bulbs 2 at either end i put all 4 in the middle with my strongest plants right under them... and the 4 2700ks are now on the sides
