Yes I think so too... now... since there are a lot more variables to keep in check... soil is much easier. But since I'm already growing I think I have to grind thru and make this happen somehow lol One day I want to grow both... soil and hydro but right now I'm too deep in... I can't go back...

Ok so they would analyze the water constantlty and add only the nutrients that needs to be added since they mix their own nutrients with single elemnts?

Ah ok I see that makes sense... they still use hydro sometimes but different style so they don't have to deal with changing res all the time.

And if we think about soil... you have the same problem there and no one is changing the soil mid grow... If Plants can use up the nutes at different ratios which then over time leads to nutrient build up in soil but on the other hand people just water with another nute solution all the time and...

Do commercial grows do that to? They must have a very high bill when it comes to water and nutes if they change their million gallon reservoirs every week...?

I'm a DWC guy and it can get kinda expensive if I change the res a lot... plus the cost for nutrients. Thats why I came up with this question.

I use distilled water... So I start with a 0 EC... That's why I'm adding Cal/Mag... What do you say? How to mix my new res... When I use 60%-75% recommended base nutrients then my base nutrients are at about EC 0.86-1.05 ... Is that ok or to much? If it's good I will start with 60% and go up...

Don't you think I need more Cal/Mag because I'm growing with LED? A lot of people have this problem. So what would you recommend? Make a Res with 3/5-3/4 of recomended base nutrients and no Cal/Mag at all and see how that goes?

Is it bad that half of it is Cal/Mag? The ratios are off by that or what do you mean? I'm rarely at 6.5 more like 5.5-6.3 but ok I will try to narrow it to 5.8-6.2. Thanks!

3/4 of full feed would be easy EC 1.0 and then 0.45 Cal/Mag so both together EC 1.45... isn't that too much?
