    Bad soil?

    I use MG's MC (moisture control) for starting seedlings and it's working just fine for me. If thats all you can find use it it may not be as good as promix or a few others but you don't have that choice right now. The problem with soilless mixes with no added nutes is your going to have to find...

    wilted/curled leaves

    From my experience over/underwatering leads to wilt and what I see there are leaf petioles that are not drooping. What I see at first glance is a very dark green plant and possible nitrogen toxification, the plants color could also be a lighting effect but the petioles are not.

    problems with my babiez

    Brown tips usually indicate over watering at this stage of growth. The spots can certainly be water spots especially if they are under HIDs. More info would be helpful such as medium, lighting, nutes, etc;

    should i water daily?

    I always say let your plants tell you when they're thirty. Notice the slight wilt and water accordingly this will not water stress your plants BTW if anyone suggests that and is actually very healthy for them and their root systems.

    hydro type

    Ya LT is right following experienced growers advice is most important. When the time comes and you get hooked hard and you will you may even want to try your hand at aeroponics or my personal favorite aero-hydroponic (hybrid), I've design systems of all types and have come to a conclusion...

    Hydroponics or Aeroponics

    Here are some pics from a customer in Holland which uses the AeroMaids, they are self-draining. Everything is reuseable so there is no waste except for of course nutrient solution. They have had 6 four foot plants in the five gallon reservoirs with some added maintenance but yields were great.

    Aeroponics

    1-2" of growth a day is the best you'll ever see to say it isn't all that much takes directly away from your legitimacy bro! There is no comparision in growth rates to say there is is well peculiar. Much respects but I'm betting your a soil gardener and probably a very good one at that.

    Aeroponics

    potroast brings up a very good and is one of the reasons I'm an aero-junkie! I use a system called an AeroMaid which I designed myself which is a hybrid called aero-hydroponic which has roots hanging in an air gap as well as submerged in the nutrient solution. Now potroast mentioned NFT in aero...

    Hydroponics or Aeroponics

    Those foggers a huge waste of money! One can build a perfectly ultra efficient aero using sprayers that won't clog for just under $100 with all the bells and whistles! I'll reiterate the key to success in aero is high volume low pressure not high pressure low volume.
