Deep ribbed, paper"ish" veins after moving to HID? Please help (details and pics!)

Thanks for the help! What changed from the plants that were doing great to these deeply veinated ladies? I moved these plants from fluoros (96W) to under my 400W HID. They then began to exhibit stress immediately. They now have deep ribbed and paper"ish" veins. Primarily in the new growth...

1st time gro, wilting leaves, looks dead

Stick your finger down in the soil and feel how wet it is. I bet it's really wet. Try to aerate as best as possible and do not add any water for a few days.

Heat stress signs, but the temps are 75 degrees??

I have a couple of plants that I just moved last week from fluoros (96W) to a 400W HPS (Hortilux Super HPS) in my Homebox. I ran into problems with my portable AC and the temps ran up to 90 degrees. It was out of control for 4 hours. PLUS they were just put under the HID which could also...

Transplant FROM soil TO soilless or hydro?

How much would it shock the plants if you wanted to transplant them FROM soil TO soilless or hydro? What kind of stresses are we talking if done very carefully? The plants are about 12". Thanks.

10,000BTU AC having problems cooling SMALL room (Pics!)

Thanks for the reply guys. There is no place for the AC to go, except above the home box. I never planned on having AC, except after fighting to get temps below 90. I then put this very nice, POS AC in there. Since I did not have any room, I decided to build the loft and increase my square...

10,000BTU AC having problems cooling SMALL room (Pics!)

I definitely need an AC during specific times of the year. The sun bakes this side of the house late in the afternoon and the garage will not cool until late at night. I think it's the second worst place after an attic for trying to control temps. If the garage is 85, then how cool can you...

10,000BTU AC having problems cooling SMALL room (Pics!)

I think you hit it on the spot. So will a dual hose AC fix the problem? It's 4' from the back of the wall and plenty of space in the front. There's no way to move it anymore than where it is.

    12 plants. how many watts?

Also, you have much less than 4', considering if you use an HID bulb, the reflector will come down 12" and the plants will start up at least 6" from the floor. The leftover distance is the max size your plants will get. Two and a half feet tall, max. You are already down to a 250W HID or...

    12 plants. how many watts?

How do you plan to ventilate and cool this tiny space? That will help determine your bulb.

10,000BTU AC having problems cooling SMALL room (Pics!)

I have one of those 10,000 BTU Sharp portable AC units you see on eBay. Yeah, yeah, I should have gotten one of the dual fan units, but those take up more energy and I found out about the dual hose systems after I bought this. So I'm stuck with it and here's my problem. I built this fake...

Lack of nutrients or not waterd enough?

I'm not a fan of anything with zero in it. Do your plants not need P and K? It looks like the soil is saturated and the composition does not provide much aeration for the roots. Looks like mud, not soil.

Plant Moisture Stress - Symptoms and Solutions

From a new student in the UB school of NO BS, I think it's still recovering from rootbound and overwatering (and maybe pH as well, which those spots might be related. Maybe not). Each plant uses salts at different rates, and each soil can decompose at different rates. Thus it gives you a...

Plant Moisture Stress - Symptoms and Solutions

Uncle Ben, I had moisture stress problems with my plant and I read every single post in this thread over the past few days that helped me correct the problem. I wanted to thank you for your common sense botanical insight. Your ability to share it with other growers makes this thread different...
