I have talked about using the incorrect fan controller many times on this forum. Do a search on my profile postings and you will find more info. You need to use a VARIAC to control the fan and not those cheapo ones that are not compatible with brushless fans. I talk about how this is a fire hazard all the time.
but maybe tell me about the fan and your setup before you go out and get this. Are you using an inline fan like the Vortex types? and why are you running the fan controller to 0%? why not just turn it off? reducing fan speed general rule is 30-40% reduction.
With the speedster type controllers the excess that you reduce is converted to heat (why you are having the problem in the first place). with the VARIAC you will be controlling voltage instead of turning your fan on/off hundreds of times a minute.
