    Hey,

Do u mind having a look at my thread.
Is this root rot under hydro section. I'd appreciate your opinion if the roots in first post are rot.
Thanks, you are one of the few people i know on riu running DE. I believe that I've found about my limit. Thanks again for your help

your welcome. I forgot to mention that was the flowering distance assuming 12-12 light schedule. Gavita shoots for 670 umol m-2 s-1 for veg because of more time under light

    Yes, I am in flowering.
I have that DE fixture in and stable. I have it at just under 30" from canopy. I want to ask u what u think is the limit on distance from the plants? How close should I get it?
I have a Genesis brand light. Not a gavita brand. I read 40000 lux at canopy now. Should I increase this? I have been reading 75000lux is saturation point for plants. Using Samsung s4 light sensor to get these lux measurements

The minimal distance between the lamp and the crop. For 600W this is 60cm/2 ft, for 750W this is 70 cm / 2 ft 4 inch, for 1000W this is 90 cm / 3 ft. In larger rooms with many overlapping lights the optimal distance is often even a bit further away. When Gavita does lighting layout designs they design for 1000 umol m-2 s-1 avg across plant canopy.

I'm thinking you should be ok with that distance with a wider reflector.
Hello. Saw I a thread that u run gavita 1000 pro. I have a chance to get one for a great deal. I am concerned about heat though. Will it produce much more heat than an air cooled hood with 1000w hps?

Thats a subjective question. The gavita is a superior light, you should make your environment work for it, not work around your current environmental setup.
Hello, You have seemingly always been a wealth of information to all fellow growers. I have 4 weeks to go based on the Botanicare feeding schedule. The buds are really filling in but I have flowers growing on the top as new growth. The sugar leaves seem to be restricted to smaller than the Trichomes. Are the buds stopping growth or are they just controlling the foliage. I will post on my pld thread.
    Thank You

I wouldn't follow a nutrient schedule, follow your plants. Not exactly sure what your saying here, but it sounds like your describing foxtailing. However lookin at your photos your plants look good (for leds). It's no secret I don't like LED lighting. I'm not a botanist so I can't describe the process, but foliage growth comes to a stand still and all energy is put into flowers for reproduction purposes.

Thank You for the reply. Is foxtailing a concern? Thank you again.

Not a botanist again but imho, some strains are genetically predisposed to foxtailing. Nothing to worry about. It makes the flowers look a little strange. When the non-foxtail part is ready to harvest, the plant is ready to harvest.
Hi, I have a post in the Newbie section concerning watering and I wondered if you might take a look...titled something like second water after transplant.
