Did the Obama Administration lie about Sarin in Syria?

Allegations were made Sunday in the London Review of Books by the Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh, that the Obama administration knowingly mislead the American people into the fabricated belief that Assad was responsible for the Sarin gas attack that killed hundreds of civilians in Syria this past August . Hersh, who first gained prominence with his expose on the Mai Lai massacre and later the torture at Abu Ghraib, is no stranger to exposing supposed abuses by the US government, and this accusation could be very significant if it is found to be true. A free lance journalist, Hersh tried to have his article entitled "Who's Sarin?", published by his sometime employer, the New Yorker magazine, but they declined as did the Washington Post citing as a reason, the sources of information did not meet their standards. I think Hersh is on shaky ground with his accusations this time, and they will be hard to prove, but that never stopped him before. One thing is for sure, Obama doesn't need this now, and it looks like it will be a tough Xmas in the White House if this gains any traction, which I am sure the Republicans will be happy to provide.
 
Who knows, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

What i'm more interested about is why the whole civil war has dropped off the face of the earth. It's as if it never happened. I havn't seen a story about it in weeks, other than one a day ago stating that all bio weapons had been destroyed. Has everyone suddenly stopped shooting? I could go all conspiracy and ask what they were covering up with all the Syria focus.

I think Hersh may be onto something again. There was plenty of news reports at the time that alledged Al-Nusra [al Qaeda in Iraq] had been caught with around 2kg of sarin in turkey. These reports were then confirmed by Turkeys Interior Ministry.

There were also widespread and confirmed reports of jihadists looting Syria's unguarded weapon stockpiles. Some of these sites housed chemical weapons that are now unaccounted for.

Strange the NYTimes and WPost will not publish the story considering they have previously published reports contradicting parts of the white house' statements.

Has there ever been a published accounting of Gaddafi's weapons stockpiles before his regime fell? Would be interesting to see if any is now in Syria.
 
The Obama administration are the King of liars, and it's been that way for years now. Impeachment would be appropriate after next November 4th 2014...imo

Obama said he didn't know about the IRS targeting the conservatives in the election process..He played dumb, he knows everything and just lies about it and says he doesn't know, So I guess he reads the paper to find out whats happening with his democratic leadership...He's a liar that plays dumb...

This time, press office staff members asked the president directly, which they said they had not done in 2011."


This is just remarkable, the president never knows anything that could throw a negative light on him, But he did find out that he killed Bin Laden!

actually, he doesn't know..he is not told in order to insulate..if he doesn't know about it he can never be brought up on charges..
 
All politics aside... Anyone who believed Assad's regime was behind those attacks were blind. It made no logical sense, whatsoever. The dude may be crazy, but not that crazy.

By the way, the "reported" attacks on Israel by Assad's regime, is a bunch of bullshit as well.
Once again, it makes no logical sense whatsoever. Why would Assad, with the shit-pile already on his plate, start screwing with Israel??
He would NOT. It is just another attempt by the "West" to bring in support to replace Assad.

It is bullshit. Let them kill each other out and stay out of it.

What does that even mean?

No one in the world disputes weapons were used. Most of the world disputes it was done by Assad regime. Rebels did it, with "Western" backing in order to blame Assad and get global support.
