I was watching this panel from the Brookings Institute earlier today, and found them bringing up some very interesting things about the problems associated with this proposed action of intervention.

But when I went to watch it again on CSpan, I get stuck in a loading loop...

no, thats specious.

the nation of islam usies the same rhetoric as islam but they are distinctly different organizations with distinctly different beliefs.

no sane moslem could accept the "Great Mother Wheel" or that elijah mohammed was a prophet any more than i can.

just as "latter day saints" arent considered Saints by catholics, and $cientiologists dont really have anything to do with science, the names are really just an issue of Branding.

One of their beliefs is that a mad scientist on an Island ran a eugenics program and bred lighter skinned black people until they were white, with the end result being the whiter you are the more evil you are. The Nation of Islam (black muslims) has nothing to do with Islam and is just as racist as the KKK. And more corrupt than Jerry Falwell.

Wallace Fard Muhammad taught that the original peoples of the world were black and that white people were a race of "devils" created by a scientist named Yakub (the Biblical and Qur'anic Jacob) on the Greek island of Patmos. John Kerry hated foreign wars when he was young and draft eligible.
Now he wants us to go in and bomb the fuck out of a foreign country.

So we go in and kill people (government) that are killing people that hate us (rebels).

If you go in and bomb Syria, everyone will hate us, including those that the bombs helped.
If we do not go in and bomb, the government will still kill the people that hate us and want us dead and they will hate us just as much.

I am really trying to see what the end game is here. Why waste all that money on bombs?

And I must remind us, self rule means this Congress can approve or disprove at their 2 year peril. If they are not going to be elected anyway....see how this never ends? Politics is conflict.

And it means 2-3 leaders can still take action...or not. And our guy can't be hanged, but could be impeached if he sinks his party to the waterline for the mid-terms. The French are French. They have a bit more strict sense holding to account.
