Been doing this for awhile and figured I’d share. I’m sure this has already been posted about 1k times but here’s an easy way to recharge your carbon filter if it starts taking a shit on you and stinking up your grow spot.
Need: dawn dish soap - oven - baking sheets - strainer
- pop rivets / unscrew one end of the filter
- the pellets are separated by two mesh nets ( inner & outer ), simply pour/scoop the carbon into the strainer and apply a drizzle of dawn soap over the top of the pellets and rinse with hot water until the bubbles are no longer forming.
- spread an even layer of pellets on the sheet , preheat oven to 400-450 (convection works best) for about 20-40 minutes or until the pellets are dry to the touch.
- repack the filter with the recharged pellets and save yourself $50-Cheers
