I am about 6 weeks into my first run of 1212 seed company genetics. In this run I am trying my hand at a mother/phenohunt grow.
Today we up-potted and moved from my starting tent into my 4by4.
Sak of Apples (Apples and Bananas x Squirt Sak) Reg - 5 planted and 5 femmes from the reg seeds.
Seeds were planted 5/18 and have been in Solo cups until today.
Started on 6/3, I also have 3 (of 5 germinated) Tangie x Sour Strawberry regs.
2 lost their heads as seedlings, but all of the seeds popped. I am considering them unsexed at this time, but I am confident we have at least 2 potential mothers.
I am hoping that the fresh and amended coir, and the less humid environment of my 4by4 corrects some of the deficiencies that were present in the 2x2. Despite that I am happy with the vigor these plants exhibited in the less than optimal environment.
Current plan is to get some additional vegetative growth, remove the two tops that the initial topping created (with the exception of Sak 3, she got cut a little lower than I planned), clone, allowing to set root and get a couple weeks additional veg in. Once established the new clones will be flipped under 1212 and set to do their thing. Then we whittle down the moms based on yield, health, and flower quality.
Once we have a favorite of the two strains I am going to do another run or two to see what kind of results I can get running the same exact genetics under a 12/12 with 6 plants in 1 gallon pots, and a more traditional veg to flower cycle with three plants in 5 gallon pots (my current standard).
I am thinking that these runs will be alternated between runs, to keep variety interesting, assuming I do not get distracted by something new.
So many plants, so little space and time.
