Outdoor show an tell 2025

Sorry to hear that! I had heard it was very susceptible to mold which is why I never tried to grow it outdoors.
Ya the buds are thick an fat but this weather here is not normal tons of rain an hi RH, They still had at least 2 more weeks to finish up no way that wasnt going to happen. Same thing that happens in the fall last few yrs just cant get them to the finish line even with a covered hoop with lots of fans blowing 24-7. with dew points in the 70s shit will rot in front of a fan running nonstop.

I can usually get to the finish line, close enough, other than the septoria plants, but nothing looks great, even if it smokes just fine. Partly because we can still have 90s in early Oct. Nobody markets much outdoor bud in Oklahoma these days. But I generally would rather smoke outdoor rather than what is usually sold in dispos these days, regardless of how it looks!

It has always bewildered me how people have been conditioned to use a visually appealing bud as a measure of what is worthy of trying, just before turning it into ashes. Late harvest popcorn nugs remain a favourite.

If septoria wasn't so prevalent, I'd aim for late finishing sativa dominant strains that finish early November. We used to have killer frost by mid September - now the season goes to mid November. Chem91 used to finish by Halloween or later, surviving all the October rains, and bulking up late.

Oklahoma just moved to prepackaged flower in the dispos, which further reinforces the premium on visual appearance. So many people around here just smoke concentrates because they want to get hammered and they really have no idea of how amazing quality flower can be!

Well bud rot has taken over the ISS with dew points in the upper 60s low 70s nothing a grower can do. So glad i didnt go full bore on the light depo I have come to the conclusion that growing market quality bud here in maine outdoor is no longer possible because of weather we now get. My last yr trying I have said that for a couple yrs but this early fail is the last straw for me.
Sorry man, that's a heartbreaker. I was out at 6am watering and mulching some recent transplants this morning, I was dripping sweat in minutes and that's before the sun was even hitting the field. Ugh. Tomorrow is going to be hell.

Iam just tired of fighting mother nature just to have a bon fire. We will see how the crippy does i have very little hope on those at this point if they are not deep into flower by late august those go to the burnpit also.

Sorry to hear that, I cant even imagine trying with those conditions. We get high humidity in the mornings, 78% right now, temp 57 deg. , but by afternoon its in the 30%'s and 75 to 90 deg. on average. Normally no rain between June and mid September, if so its a small amount then dry again. My problems come from late September to harvest in mid October, more rain, foggy mornings that sometimes don't clear all day.

I think you need a totally enclosed greenhouse with a big dehumidifier?, I know, what a pain.

Thats the deal, I have a 20 x 30 hoop that gets covered on top with plenty of big ass fans blowing 24-7 its not enough to keep bud rot at bay with 65-70 dewpoints.

I have some early flowering action going on here. One is an auto so that’s to be expected. The bigger one, is the one that the woodchuck munched a while back, that’s a jealousy. Also both my Oreoz are pre-flowering. It’s a good thing, I am hoping to avoid Thumpers recent unfortunate event. Although I know I won’t make through them all unscathed.

That's interesting--I had a bunch go into flower back in May, about half a dozen of the Cherry Wines, never seen that before. They're still flowering away, I figured as we approached the solstice they'd stop and revert to veg. But I have zero experience with flowering outside of the normal season. Wonder if something else is affecting it this year?

How hot did it get down your way this week? All-time record here at the house, 99.5 in the shade. Plants seemed to do fine, gave them all big drink at dawn each morning, but that's pretty punishing.

We were about the same here, right around 100. That doesn’t happen often here. I’m a mile from the beach, but there was no sea breeze. I also gave everything a good soaking early morning, they were happy. I’m not sure why I have flowering. I grew the Oreoz last year as well and they didn’t start showing anything until the beginning of August.

We get that hot and hotter every summer, 2011 it was about 50 days over 100. Cannabis does fine in that, but it is a big reason why I grow in the ground and use alot of mulch. The root zone gets too hot in any pots smaller than about 20 gallons, regardless of how much watering you do.

My G13 and Permanent Marker have gone crazy with the recent heat wave we had. Thinking of topping the bottom limbs of both and let them grow upwards from there (with pruning)
