Considering moving from HID to LED, looking for insight !

Even if it worked on their dot com site the $ conversion, taxes and duties would likely kill it...

But, I will check ;)

Cheers
I know there are several Canadian based led companies. Do none of them offer affordably priced lighting options?
BC Blondes
Grand Master Level
A few others slipping my mind.
Could always search second hand also.
Just remember if the efficiency isn't super high your not likely to be very impressed vs hps. I'd say 2.5 + µmole

BC Blondes - $800 sold out
Grand Master Level - $700

Looking there too but.....

If money wasn't an issue I would just order a Phototek 600w, they come on sale for ~ $900 :o

Keep in mind I'm used to a single light source in a parabolic reflector !

My plants are on castors and I'm used to turning them every day.

Mars Hydro FC-E4800 is a 480 watt LED with an efficiency of 2.8 µmol/j and a photon flux of 1331 µmol/s for $499 Cdn off Amazon dot ca.

What I really like is their remote control via an app, no more timer settings/malfunctions ;)

And a decent par map from Coco for Cannabis. I train my plants to occupy a 2' x 2' footprint...

Mars has that wonky excessively high blue spike.
I'll tell you how to get a deal - Hit up GML directly. Explain your budgetary restrictions and tell him you are from RIU where is lights are very under represented compared to HLG. He loves to swing his dick like most in this business. Maybe a discount would come your way for a "verbal" agreement to showcase the lights here in your journal etc.
Never know, I personally have received and been offered tons of free shit just for the publicity. All of these led companies are hungry :peace:

The dirty little secret is that these mid range lights generally botch their numbers a bit, here around 10% on the mars:

The HORTILUX™ Super Blue lamp is environmentally friendly in that it passes EPA, TCLP test criteria as non hazardous waste. HID and Hortilux Super Blue MH for Veg and flowering. 1000000527.jpg

Greetings,

As some of you know I'm a die hard HID user !

But, my ballast has passed away and I'm due for two new tubes......

Thinking about investing that money into an appropriate sized LED bar light ;)

And finally quenching my curiously

I don't Need a Mega Watt monster but would like to come somewhat close to what my 600w HID was producing.

Currently looking at @VIVOSUN Official VS FD 6500 (~$600 Cdn.) and the Marshydro FC-E4800 (~$490 Cdn.)...

FYI > I plan to continue growing Sativa's but am actually looking at training methods to Reduce my yields !

Still in SIP's and 4 strains per grow in a 4' x 4' x 4' high enclosure that expands to +5' x 5' x 4' high if needed (inside a 10' x 10' x 8' room).

Comments/advice appreciated on brands/how many watts is really enough if all other specs are similar in that price range !

Cheers
Don't do it, yes you can get better yields but quility will not be the same.

Not what I'm seeing bongsmilie

Finishing up my second grow with a Phlizon FD6000 640w LED, heat is down, light spread is awesome !

I've had over achievers within inches of the bars with no burning...
Since I usually grow four different sativa strains at a time it's hard to compare strength but so far I've had one hit wonders :weed:

And slightly larger yields !

Zero regrets here.....
