First cannabis grow. General help/advice needed

Unknown strain. Mostly just an experiment with a seed i had in one of my bags. Growing indoors. It’s been about 40 days since germination. I’ve given it 1 drop SuperThrive in 4oz water 2 times now 2 weeks apart, I’ve figured out now I probably should have waited on nutrients but damage is done. Just wondering if my plant is growing at a good rate, and also if the leaf browning is due to nutrients too early. It’s my first plant, I’m not super worried about failing as I have 8 little seedlings popping up and about 20 more seeds I can go through. For now I’m using the LED on my AeroGarden Hydro system. It’s about 8 inches above my plant right now. I have a viparspectra p1000 i’m setting up in my garage for when it needs more light coverage. Advice on the browning leaves? Advice moving forward on my new plants starting? 2 of my seedlings I decided to try in my hydro system.2AFA30AB-B380-4F20-9848-047317AE1DA0.jpeg0743B4E2-5E4E-4BF8-A204-FF824FCA9738.jpeg9448820D-7EF1-45BC-86FE-2635BE74D9B8.jpeg

Looks like you haven’t developed good watering habits
You need to water thoroughly to runoff
But I can’t say for sure till we know more about your lights ,feed, ..
So please fill in the details and WELCOME TO RIU :weed:
Edit
Oh I’m my opinion superthrive has no redeeming qualities unless you own stock because as a snake oil sales company they excell

you mean until water is coming out of my drainage holes right? I don’t do that no, I have a drainage layer of large rocks and then smaller pebbles and no drain holes. I can transplant into one with holes but I had always had luck in my houseplants with a drainage layer. My lights are on the 18/6 cycle. The light is a 20w full spectrum LED. I just water when the first inch or so is dry. So superthrive isn’t very helpful you say, meaning it probably isn’t the cause of the leaves browning? What are some good veg fertilizers?

You need drainage holes. If the plant dosent eat all of its nutrients, those turn to salt that just builds and raises ec and destroys ph. You have to let ⅕-¼ of what u put in come out to wash away old nutrients

Nah veg bloom is a line of nutrients made.by a company called hydroponic research. I don't like buying predisolved nutrients and paying for water weight to be shipped. The veg bloom line give me awesome results. I use all their stuff, plus bulletproof si and sugar ree from cutting edge solutions. Sometimes I'll add some bloom kahos to but if you don't have shit figured out perfectly bk causes such fast growth you'll see deficiencies in just a day.

Your location has a lot to do with alternatives on nutrients
As has been pointed out drain holes are critical
No need to say anything specific but general or maybe places you can shop?

A few drops of superthrive isn't going to do any damage to a plant. It's not going to do anything as that stuff is worthless snakeoil.

As for a drainage layer of rocks. That's a terrible way to grow in a pot. It doesn't improve drainage at all to begin with. Get rid of the rocks and plant into a pot filled completely with soil with drain holes on the bottom. I don't know where that decades old tale of putting rocks in the bottom of your pots came from but it does nothing but make your pots heavy and does absolutely nothing to improve drainage.

I think that it originated from people trying to keep their plant from falling over. It just devolved into this because people dislike cleaning up spilled water indoors.

The OP should definitely act quickly before the plant damps off completely. I recommend Smart Pots (no rocks!).

I added drainage holes yesterday right after this! I gave it a big soak and i could definitely see the runoff was the color of diluted superthrive. So probably was just sitting there. I have two big garden centers which is where I grabbed my superthrive. They also had foxfarm things, I’ve seen some growers mention that brand. I’m in an illegal state so not really any shops for specifically cannabis growing, if those exist lmao.

I actually added the holes yesterday, and watered until runoff. All of my houseplants are potted with rocks even in pots with holes and i’m not having problems with them. This pot just happened to not have holes and I never added them. I also know that pot plates exist to hold runoff water, which I also put under my pots so i don’t mind the water haha. If the rocks are useless then you learn something new every day. The rocks should be fine in there as the rock layer is like an inch to 8 inches of dirt, until I repot.

Chances are there is something at those garden centers that is very similar and will work just as good as any cannabis specific nutrients. It's a plant and eats the same as other plants. Almost all fertilizers originate from the same chemical factories.

Actually I've seen a better selection at even Home Depot lately. I looked at the ingredients of some Black Magic 2 part nutes they had and it's the same ingredients you find in 90% of other nutrients. They even had Black Magic CalMag. The Miracle-Gro Performance Organics is a decent product. Then there is Dr Earth and several others.

The selection is going to be better in certain regions. I know where I'm at most of the nurseries and garden centers have added product lines in order to get in on the high profit margins of selling nutrients. But I'm in a legal state. In fact less than an ounce of Marijuana was decriminalized way back in 1973 so the attitudes towards pot here have been pretty liberal for decades. You're probably not going to find the same in say Mississippi or Alabama. So as @Herb & Suds stated. Amazon
