personaly i would germ your seend in paper towels first then plant them in a good medium either dirt rokwell or a hydro bucket.....if thier not fems i would def sex them and weed out ma and pops.....then i would just clone them.....once u have a good set of roots u can just drop them into a hydro system and do what ya gotta do....

but i do beleive that a rainforest system is a cloneing machine i thiink it hold 8 slots or something?

its a 6 shot aero set up kinda small i do 3 plants per rainforest and it works great.
iv actually started seeds b4 and as soon as the had decent roots on em i transplanted them from solo cups to a 25 shot aeroponic cloning machine. i did 2 regular strains and one fem i had all female results i was just looking to avoid the whole transplanting process. keeping things in soil until clone time would save me the transplant but itd cost time...

prolly try it that way this time. thank you luielugatz

This method has not failed me.

Take a pill bottle or something, fill it with a little water. Enough for a couple seeds to be submerged. Put the seeds in the water, in the fridge. Wait 24 hours. Try pushing each seed down. Floaters may be bad seeds. Put them back into the fridge. About 12-24 hours later, check them again. You may notice the seeds have cracked. You can put the cracked seeds into your medium. Keep the other seeds in the fridge until they crack. Check at the begining or end of the day to see what else you get to plant. Go ahead and trash the floaters if they don't sink.

I germinated mine in a paper towel, and after they cracked I inserted them into Rapid Rooter plugs and covered the hole up just enough to keep light out. They all flourished in the Rapid Rooters, and I stuck them in the RainForest exactly five days from putting them in paper towels, with roots coming out the sides and bottom. I just put some hydroton in the bottom of the netcups, set the RR plug on top, and filled in around the sides with more hydroton.

Im just starting hpa. In experimemtal stage yet.
What i am testing is poping seeds or clones in rockwool. I cut 1x1x3" plugs out of a rockwool bat to clone or start seed in. When roots start to show i put a small 1/4" layer of poly fill between the 2" net cup and the rockwool think pillow stuffing. Polly fill or wool does not soak up water and gives the rock wool a little water barrier so it doesn't get soaking. I don't do a perfect wrap. The bottom is open to mist and a couple gaps on the sides.
Been about 4 days and roots are growing out of the polly already. I also misted every 2 hrs at the start as no roots were showing and the rw was wet so no need. Just upped it to every 1/2 hr this am.

Cups with 100% perlite or 50/50 with vermiculite. Used to put a layer of all verm on the top so the seed wouldn't dry out. You can brush/rinse most of it out once its bigger

I have found that the best way to germinate seeds for either soil or hydro is to begin in a 1" eazyplug it will only hold the correct amount of water so you soak the plug and put the seed in dry, cover and place in a warmish place, it will germinate in three days and you never have to handle the seedling. In soil the plug will help to stabilise the plant, this is also helps for clay balls.

At the moment, I am putting the eazyplug 1" cube directly into an easyplug mini pyramid which is about 5 inches square on the base.
