Unskilled Labor aka Devaluing Labor

I just took some different work close to home a couple months ago and it pays damn near double. Making nearly $2k a week now banging together track homes

Companies are so in need of good workers right now the pay is incredible, at least in construction right now. Gold rush times
I couldn’t agree more, I’m so busy my 67yo father and 63yo uncle have come out of retirement and we’re putting metal roofs on houses in 2 days about 2.5k for each guy, plus I have a second crew close by that I have to keep an eye on, but after wages and the fuck ups they make, I still see 6k/m from them, they’re getting better though, but that’ll mean raises, which is good. I rather give a guy a raise than fire him.

But next we need to get Pete B to figure out a way to get trucks more parking spaces, as it is right now, there is only 1 spot for every 11 trucks out here.

It's always a fun time getting into a truck stop or rest area to park lol
I had no idea that was an issue. Guessing that is the reason you would see random rest areas with trucks parked all along the on/off ramps. I always figured they just thought that was a nice one or just by random chance. Never really took note of the truck side of truck stops.

Edit: thank you for your service in not contributing to the piss jug situation.

Schuylaar was able to identify the problem rather easily; if only our leadership would..i don't know if you saw CNN front page yesterday but they're really stoking the fires with a pic of stores empty shevles and asking if this is the future..CNN- Don't do that..you're asking for trouble:finger:

'Nat gonna do it..a thousand points of light'.

ive asked the other trades what theyre getting and its goldrush all over. two kids, maybe 18 or 19 each, were mudding a garage. they estimated about $450 for the garage alone. they were in and out in 3 hours. kids are making $70 an hour each. window guy is getting $7 to $8 a hole but he must have done 50-60 windows in one day. i built two small sets of stairs today and made 320, a 3 riser and a 5 riser. in at 8, out at 330, half hour lunch works out to 45 an hour on a slow day. love it

See? That’s what I’m talking about brother!!! Lol I’d love to see someone just “build some stairs” I know once you know how to do it, it’s pretty straight forward, but sometimes it’s pretty fancy and therefore more complicated, to call it skilled labour is an understatement, it’s more of an art form when they get intricate.
