Day 77 (week 11) of estimated 11 weeks. I think they're going to take 2-3 more weeks.

My magic cola, from the color of the pistils we can tell that it's got a ways to go.

DSC02495.JPG

This is from a different plant, by the looks of it this will be the heaviest cola of the 4 plants.

Week 12, day 83, I estimate 2 weeks until harvest. Maybe 3 weeks.

.

Still all white pistils, lots of room for the buds to swell.

DSC02497.JPG

.

Most of my sugar leaves are toasted but the buds continue to swell.

DSC02498.JPG

This is the garden's heaviest cola, I wish I had been taking pics of it from the start.

Week 13, 93 days of flower

I'm finally seeing dark pistils, about a third of all pistils are dark red. I'm expecting 10 days to 14 days until harvest, I won't be chopping until both the pistils and trichomes are ripe.

.

The colas are starting to get heavy and are bending over.

DSC02500.JPG

.

My magic colas is bent over from the weight.

DSC02501.JPG

.

My heaviest cola - if you look close you can see some dark pistils.

DSC02502.JPG

.

From plant #1, left front of tent.

DSC02503.JPG

.

Again, look close and you can see that the pistils are about 1/3 ripe.

Week 14, day 98 of flower

The pistils are finally turning rust color, about 60% dark and 40% white. This next week will hopefully be my last flowering this crop. I wanted an extra week or two for the buds to fill out but now we're 3 weeks past the estimated due date.

Of the 4 plants only the one on the left side in the back started keeling over, the other three are all straight up and down.

DSC02505.JPG

.

This plant has lots of ripening to do, from the white pistils.

DSC02506.JPG

.

This was my magic cola, It's not going to do me good for the led contest.

DSC02507.JPG

.

The cola in the middle is one to be proud of, it's filled out over the past 4 or 5 weeks. I use a product called Overdrive to keep the buds filling out in late flower. I don't know if it's anything but snake oil but I like using it.

Five weeks into veg and my 4 Happiness plants are coming along great. I've topped them each 4 times, which gives 16 centre colas per plant. Along with the 4 side branches, which were each topped once, that's 24 colas.

I have to take clones off the best plant for my defoliation test, that'll cut down on my colas.

Three came out almost the same height, while the plant in the rear right stretched a bit.

DSC02509.JPG

.

I underfed all plants for the first 2 weeks, it's left some fading in the lower leaves.

Other than that they're tippy top, quite lush.

DSC02510.JPG

Now I water every two days for another week or two, then up-pot to a 7 gallon fabric pot.

Week 15, Day 102

These plants are taking their time to finish, I've been racking my brain and browsing the site to think of ideas to make them finish earlier. Of course there's nothing to do but wait.

.

The colas are swelling but there's still a ways to go.

DSC02514.JPG

.

This cola is coming along swimmingly.

DSC02513.JPG

.

My magic colas is bent over from the weight, it has big chunky buds all the way down the cola. It's not often where the lower stem has more buds than the cola but I think this will be one of them.

DSC02511.JPG

.

Hunker down for another week, see how things are ripening.

My 4 Happiness plants are vegging well, they're been topped 4 times each and are now growing the colas that will hold the bud. The stems to this point have just been platforms that the colas will grow on.

I'm estimating 80-85% of the pistils, on 3 of the Kali Mist plants, are now rust color. No more than a week until harvest, possibly sooner.

These pics are from the shortest plant - about 8" shorter than the other three. The sugar leaves survived my gardening but the pistils are about 35% rust and 65% white. As strange as it seems the extra leaves did not create fatter colas or ripen earlier.

Another from the short plant.

One of my rare in focus pictures, you can see the trichomes on this one.

I just checked the trichomes on 2 of the plants - the trichomes are about 10% amber. Most of the pistils have turned rust, maybe 15% still white.

Looks like this will be harvest week for 3 of the plants, the short leafy one is going to take another week.

Lookin awesome Hobbes! My Kali Mist came down last week, it was a short pheno and it ripened a bit faster than yours, but it also had the stress of being exposed to high heat for a few days, which might have contributed. It wasn't quite ready, but I took it down because my other 3 plants needed to come down asap, they were fully ripe (and I have limited space for drying). The Kali Mist and Serious Happiness were both excellent yielders and both have potent, positive vibes. The Kali Mist yielded 8 oz total and the Serious Happiness yielded 10 oz. SH has huge yield potentials. I ended up with 2 lb 5 oz total from 4 plants under 550 watts of LED, but ended up tossing 5 oz of a single strain that had developed some bud rot deep inside the biggest colas. The plant with bud rot only had 8 primary bud sites, so the colas grew huge-this was a test between 8 bud sites and 20+. From now on, I'll stick with many smaller colas rather than a few large ones. The large ones were awesome but ultimately not worth the added risk of fungus. I don't mess around with bud rot so I dumped any cola I found it in. I found both Serious strains to be well thought out, well bred, high quality plants and would certainly grow them again. And this was from only 1 fem seed popped from each. I'm looking forward to your Serious Happiness grow, I'd love to see what types of plants you get from it.

I am a fan of sativa and I have tried a bunch of different strains and after every one I come to the same conclusion... while good, it is not so good to make up for all the extra grow time. I can grow 2 batches of really good hybrid (like ogs) in the same amount of time it takes to grow 1 batch of sativa.

You waited until the last pistil was rust, nice patience.

So true, these took 6 weeks more to finish than a strain like Serious Happiness.

It's been so long since my last harvest that I'm rationing one Volcano bag per hour, down from about 2 per hour.

But we don't grow Kali Mist for the huge yield or early finish.

I harvested one plant last night, It filled a 12" tray. 106 day, 15 weeks, of flower.

DSC02529.JPG

.

There was a bigger volume than I thought but the weight wasn't as high as I'd hoped. Plant #1 weighed 365 grams WET and will probably be 80 grams DRY.

I estimated dry weight from wet weight divided by 4.5. This has been a good estimate in the past but I'm thinking the dry weight should be around 150 grams.

I wet trim at harvest, I always have and I'd like to try for a long slow dry but I don't have the space for a dry room with temperature control.

The top colas isn't nearly as big as from a single topped plant, but there are so many of them. Smaller top cola means less chance of bud rot.

I harvested my second plant this evening, 458 grams wet and an estimated 102 grams dry. I think the total weight is going to be more than estimated when it's dried, wait and see.

DSC02535.JPG

It's amazing to see how fast the pistils are changing from white to rust, I expect to harvest my third plant tomorrow night or the night after.

My garden is half full, two more plants to harvest. Both plants have clusters of white pistils but both could turn any day.
