I'm glad I came across this post. I was looking for new lights and this confirms there's no reason to pay double the price and not just buy something from China with the same parts. Would think when you're paying twice the price for assembly it wouldn't be done half ass. I would've sent the entire light back and cancelled the order. Even if all it was was a sticker it really says a lot about the company. The fact that they didn't just send a new sticker trying to make you happy also says a lot about them.

Odd that's what you got from this thread as they did send the new sticker. By all means buy your lights anywhere you want. Myself and my plants love the new light. The light assembly was not done half assed either, just a wrong sticker applied. I went with the HLG to support a Canadian business, because it's safety certified to North American standards and because of the 3 year warranty. Yes they cost more but I got the piece of mind that came with it. I am not here to convince you to buy anything, by all means buy stuff off Alibaba if you like. Many great lights sold through that site.

LOL, yeah I didn't make that connection either nor do I see how it was an affirmation to just go buy lights straight from China. Oh well, I am still happy. My lights have a 3 year warranty and are safety certified to North American standards. They also took care of my issue. Now my plants are coming along and doing well under this light other than a couple minor issues I ran into due to my own inexperience with the new light. That cannot be blamed on the light, that is on me. Soon I will harvest my plants and start a new run which should go without a hitch now that I have more knowledge of what this light will do. Well, hopefully without a hitch, lol.

His only decent point was about price. I want 5 of the Diablo Scorpions but at that price I need to hit Lotto :eyesmoke:

LOL, yes they are top tier lights but do come with a top tier price. It is not hard to understand why HLG cannot compete with the slave labor force in China and never will be able to. People in North America demand a higher wage and standard than folks in China, that's why they can make things so much cheaper. That said you can also tell in a lot of cases when things are built to the lowest bidder. I am sure I could have gotten that performance with the right Meijiu light or a DIY. I just would not have had the same piece of mind. To each their own. I say I hope you all grow amazing plants with whatever light you choose.

It's called QC and customer service. They have a list of serial numbers and customers they are sent to. Why did it take multiple contacts for just a sticker and who is in charge of QC that allowed them to ship in the first place. When you are paying that much extra for something with the same exact parts I would expect these things. Why else spend the extra money?

Sorry you all don't understand that a child could assemble these lights and so without the QC and a high level of customer service, you're only paying and inflated price

Just to be clear I'm not saying they're bad lights. I'm just saying for the added price this is something that should have never happened and yet from what OP says its happened to several of their customers.

I dont disagree that it should not have happened, I say that in my posts. It's also 2 divisions. I bought from HLG Canada, they had to get HLG USA to fix it as they assembled it and exported it. In the end they fixed it so I am happy with my purchase.

@THERMAL Idk how much they cost HLG but I can tell you how much the second biggest home improvement store in the world buys them from HLG for and its $730-$740 per 550 light. I doubt that a massive corporation like Lowe's is getting shafted by HLG. An equivalent Chinese light is not much cheaper on Alibaba. Pay the extra $100 and save yourself the headache of having to deal with a Chinese manufacture if your light arrived broke or malfunctions in a couple months.

What’s that light do to your power bill Doug? I was thinking of retiring my multiple QB lamp setup in exchange for one stationary HLG rig. Do you love the 600r spec? That’s what I was looking at.
