12/12 - 4 weeks of 12/12

OG's are really starting to bud & frost is starting to show - I could have done much better, but I'm happy with how they're going.
SK is doing well too - I need to start LST about a week later than I did on this round - they're small.

Only took pics of the SK plant - sorry, she's my favorite right now. :bigjoint:

12/17 - Update

I saw fungus gnats again last night - top dressed affected pots with DE. --- I saw 4 of them, hopefully got them early enough this time.

Overall - my plants are small. I REALLY need to learn to avoid topping / manipulating / screwing with them too early.
I have 7 feet of tent to work with, but my plants are barely 28" tall again.

That said, they're healthy and flowering nicely.
Itty bitty plant front & center - came indoors from the patio after my cat shredded it. :cuss:

OG - Stacking nicely - a bit bushy and thick in the middle, I'm going to have a lot of LARF. Frost starting to show.

Strawberry Kush are growing well too - I should have defoliated all of them as I did the pictured plant - the other 2 have DENSE foliage.

12/29 Update

Stacking nicely.
Definitely harvesting less than I could have - lesson(s) learned.
Here's some pics! :P

Group shot - the twig in the middle came from the patio - my cat shredded it.

Strawberry Kush - stacking nicely - the lights on pic is the smallest of these.

01/25 Late Update

I've been harvesting as they come ready.
I still have 1 OG Kush and 1 Strawberry Kush left in the tent as of today.
I'm harvesting less than last grow, but I'm still happy with the results - I didn't kill them and they are POTENT.

Next grow will be 4 OG Kush / LST'd.
Also growing:
5 Strawberry Kush
1 Blueberry Muffin (I think...it was a dispo bagseed)
At least 4 of the Strawberry Kush will be the start of a hash/edible experiment in another room.
The remaining plants will be LST'd and grown until canopy is full.
Along the way either the Strawberry or the Blueberry may join the hash experiment - I'm trying to grow 4 large LST'd plants on this round.

Anyway, here's pics from the other night:
Strawberry Kush
I should have spread their branches further to maximize exposure. 2 of them are really tightly packed and I seem to have barely avoided budrot.

OG Kush
Didn't appreciate my topping method - pest issues didn't do them any favors either.
Still, they taste AMAZING and are really stony.

Final Thoughts

Follow up fell out the window at the end of the grow.
Results
Again, I am not shooting for "about a pound" and didn't do a whole lot of exact weighing - but I came up around:
8.5oz. of Bud
3.5oz. of trim
-yielded a 9 gram temple ball (73 & 160U not full melt, but still very good).
-another 8 grams of green kief that made 8oz of POTENT Cannabutter (that makes me type long Final Thoughts posts)
- Trim leaves were used in a Chimi Churri sauce (I want to do a Pesto too, but haven't yet.)
- WAY short of last grow and a bit of a disappointment; but I could see it coming early on when my topping went sideways.
- Better density made up for a lot of the apparent shortfall - I used A LOT fewer curing jars which is why I initially thought I was VERY short compared to last grow.

Last Grow vs. This Grow
NO HERMS! :bigjoint: Adjusting from 12/12 to 11.5 on / 12.5 off worked.
Quality is better. I think having a slower approach to nutes paid off well; I seem to have a good start anyway.
Harvested between 8.5 & 10 weeks.

VERY sugary plants.
Flavor / Aroma come out perfect - Both Kushes have the classic Kush funk;
The OG has a distinct Lavender flavor on the exhale
The Strawberry smells like strawberry jam in the jars - pretty cool! Flavor is straight up Kush.
Both are balanced hybrids, but the Strawberry feels sleepier at the end.

OOPS!
I had fewer "Oops!" - but the ones I had were "learning moments":
Topped early and aggressively - and stunted my plants badly --- switched to LST & one minor topping.
LST - should have spread the branches out MUCH further - some of my mids would have become spears.

Overall I'm very happy with this grow, even though the yield was a bit lower - I learned A LOT
I was able to use IPM to get rid of fungus gnats - and up my game if they come back this round.
Learned Linear LST with one topping late in veg - that stays in my game. - horizontal, 2 dimensional Christmas trees.
