This is a great deal for those of us who don't have a local store

Anyone know the quality of the brand? I've used their biochar before. With coco I'm always worried about salt levels as I don't want to have to do multiple rinses just to use the stuff. Previously I used canna coco but we know that's a premium brand with the price tag to match. Is canna really that superior or different to others? Let's assume the crap unknown brands are out of the equation, sticking to at least those frequently found in your local hydro shop, etc.

For that price I thought about getting a few just to have on stand-by.

Wish I seen this lol....just paid $190 for ten 40L bricks including shipping.

Wish this was in Canada, they want $30 shipping just for one, ouch.

Oh well I have 2 or 3 bricks of canna coco left so like 100L of medium should do me for like a bit at least.

Can coco be reused?

Takes 1-2 rinses to get the ppm down usually, nothing too bad, I think it starts slightly saltier than botanicare blocks.

Yes it can, you wash through with low ppm nutrient solution with something like cannazyme or hydrozyme to break down rootmass (don't ever wash coco with plain water, it must have at least low ppm of nutrients).

IMO rinsing and buffering coco is a waste of time. Almost all of the brands are already rinsed and buffered. I have used almost every coco brick brand, and have never had an issue with ppms or any other ion issue or whatever. I just make sure that after every/any transplant, to water with tons of runoff..

Again, TO ME, its a waste of time...

100% waste of time and more likely to do harm. Seems theres a lot of misinformation out there about coco, it is not like soil. If someone insists though I stand by my assertion that you should never run plain water through coco, that WILL lead to Cal/Mg deficiencies and is just a waste of time.

Price is back up to over $23usd, smh

I always reuse my coco/perlite mix. Soak it in an H2O2 solution for a bit to kill any potential pathogens, and then rinse the hell out of it with straight tap water (my tap is around 150ppm).

They cant even ship one brick here to Hawaii for $8, they are definitely losing money at this price.

I didn't even need any new coco, but at $8 a brick I had to buy one.

I wonder why the price is bouncing so much. I checked on this last night and it was $33.00. Today it is $23.00. I'd like to see it drop to $8.00 and I'll load up on it.

Sounds like crazy price swings. Doesn't make any sense.

It's put out by Mother Earth which is owned by the same company that owns Botanicare. It's probably just a slightly lower quality than the Botanicare. But still good coco. I'd use it if I can get it for $8. If not I'll just go to American Agriculture down the street and get the Botanicare for $12.60. It's nice having a no-nonsense shop within walking distance that carries everything you need. With great prices as well.

But if I can get that for $8 I'll order 10 bales and get free shipping for orders over $25.
