Gun Lovers, You're Screwed.

just sayin absolutely nothing...most guns have never shot a human being....most of them get stuffed in drawers and fired once a year at a range, or in the backyard...but one in a thousand does kill someone....maybe more than one in one thousand...and maybe more than one someone....
i am not saying get rid of guns...i am saying control them strictly. keep them out of the hands of those who should have never been allowed to have them to begin with. you CANNOT have a laissez-faire attitude about gun ownership....that is EXACTLY what has led to this fucked up state of affairs where gun owners are closer than they've ever been to losing that "right"....

Either brand new or passed down from family. Now that I think of it my grandaddys Thompson from WW2 probably downed a few nazis. So I guess I was wrong. :bigjoint:
So here is my question, do you have any relatives that you would not pass your guns down to? I don't know anything about guns/buyback programs, but I think they should be fair and always available, that way people don't need to feel wasteful handing down guns they could sell to a buyback program instead of letting that one relative most people seem to have that you wouldn't think is safe having your guns.

Edit: My family loves hunting, I wrestled so during season I was always tired and hungry to bother sitting out in the snow for hours to kill something I enjoyed watching the rest of the year, so while I don't enjoy it I get that people love it and look forward to it all year long and have no problem with that other than thinking it is kind of shitty to kill things that obviously are aware, but meat is meat, I get it.

You obviously went to public school and still send your kids to those failures. Spend some money on your kid's education so they don't grow up rambling off cuss words poetically to get buck's approval.

They would be a lot better off if they didn't go to churches but the rest is fine.
Public schools far outperform all others

You must not have gone to public school. That would explain why you are so dumb

I plan to pass down everything to my sons and grandsons one day, but they will be trained in firearm safety and hunting safety as I was when I was young. My granddaddy taught me everything about firearm safety and I plan the teach them. I was always taught to never load your weapon until you’re in your stand or blind, never point your barrel in anyone’s direction, ever, and if you kill it you eat it. I wouldn’t pass anything down to anyone in my family that couldn’t show me they know how to responsibly handle a gun the way I was taught and the way I’ll teach them.

Don't forget to give some to the schizophrenic ones. It wouldn't be fair.

I have respect for that, it just worries me when I hear a story from my dad (who is a storyteller but still) about the neighbor at the end of the block shooting his AR-15 into the field behind his house at a hill, but my dad keeps hearing pings over his pole barn of the ricochet because the guy didn't understand the range they flew.

Could be an exaggerated story he heard while at the neighbors, idk, but the point stands that these guns are being mass produced and any idiot can get one not understanding their power. Mistakes happen and it just takes that moment of stupidity that we all fall into sometime. Nobody wants to take a hit after biting off more they can chew with these guns, give them a safe way to get them off the streets.

Have a never ending fair priced government buyback/destruction program, and regulate new sales very closely. And ban the internet/mail order sales of bullets and guns. I think that might at least be a fair starting point with this.

Well seeing how @UncleBuck doesnt believe mental disorders are to blame bc every country has mental disorders I don’t see why not. Bc I mean in the end it’s the guns fault right? Or are you saying that mental disorders might be to blame as well?? Hmmmm you guys change your standing from thread to thread lol pretty comical at this point

I can respect those options. I don’t see why they wouldn’t help the current situation at least

It seems to me that the asshole who gives a schizophrenic a gun has some blame in the matter as well. A schizophrenic with a gun is more dangerous than one without one. I don't think anybody here is doubting that mental illness is often a factor in a mass shooting, but guns always are.

until every state in the union REQUIRES vigorous background checks, with no fucking wiggle room, with no room for "interpretation"...this shit is going to keep happening.
until every state in the union stops person to person sales of firearms, this shit is going to keep happening. until every state in the union prosecutes gun owners for crimes committed with their weapons, unless those weapons were promptly reported stolen, these things are going to keep happening...
shut the loopholes, stop gun show sales with no background checks, stop sales by private individuals to private individuals...make it a mandatory felony to be in possession of any unregistered firearm.
and i know there are people sitting here reading this thinking im some kind of liberal fascist...well fuck you, maybe i am...maybe you need a liberal fascist to kick you in the motherfucking stupid ass a few times to get you to wake the fuck up, you ignorant fucks...
you have a right to have a gun? your right to have a gun means absolutely fuck all to anyone who has been killed with a gun...motherfuckers. it means less than fuck all to the parents of those dead children...so stuff your rights up your fucking ass...your rights can't bring one dead kid back to life
Its a numbers game Roger.

Doesn't have to be ALL or nothing. Almost all is good enough.

Also, the federal government needs to step in, we can't depend on every state doing the right thing.

That sounds exactly like what someone with a mental disorder would say.

Hmmmm pretty comical at this point.

I have no problem with a sane member of society owning firearms. There needs to be something put in place/enforced which keeps nut jobs from being able to grab a gun and go on a murder spree.
Do you think psychological testing is so precise it can reliably weed out the 1 in a thousand who are prone to gun violence? How would that work?

Would you be good with a system that is 20% accurate?
