Drying in unfinished basement?

What's up everyone, it's getting to that time of the year for me where I'm getting ready to chop some outdoor plants real soon. Finally everything's legal in my state and I no longer have to guerilla grow and dry in less than optimal conditions. My growing partner wants to dry everything in the basement which is unfinished and has the usual basement smell which I'm hesitant about. Was curious about everyone's thoughts/ personal experiences with that and I'll throw in some recent pics cause nobody likes a thread without some bud porn.

stick a dehuy down there a week before you start hanging that should end the musty smell.I always run a dehuy when drying large amounts.

also use baking soda to clean it out. Baking soda or vinegar should work then air it out and dehumidify. I would keep some fresh baking soda down there as well after using some with water as a cleaner it and cleaning it up

Plastic will also act as a vapor barrier for the concrete floors as well as catch fallen buds and crystals from the drying process. It would be optimal to first clean, then lay down plastic and make a big temporary drying room with good air circulation an dehumidification.

I believe a show called dexter about a serial killer shows how to make “kill” rooms
This would be a similar plastic structure except with ventilation holes with fans and a dehumidifier. It would cost probably 50$ to build and secure your investment
Given you already own the fans and dehumidifier

Appreciate all the responses. I'll have to go down there today and see what the deal is as far as smell and all that. Havent been down there since last fall I guess I just assumed every unfinished basement has the musty smell. Theres already a dehumidifier and fans down there so that parts covered at least.

The prep of my unfinished basement room consisted of torching the entire room with a propane flame torch, a big one, to make short work of spider webs which were everywhere. I followed this by vacuuming the room very well. Next I filled a sprayer with bleach and water and sprayed the whole room down 3 times letting it dry and vent out the chlorine which was too strong to stand. I sprayed down the room with spider ban which is just a pyrethrim spray but is effective against most basement dwelling bugs and finally I lined the area with a new roll of poly, floor, ceiling and walls. The mildew/moldy basement smell was gone after the 2nd application of bleach spray and I could actually smell lumber again. Now it just smells like weed.

Probably the same thing minus the nerf gun. It makes very short work of spider webs in unfinished basements. You can even do ceilings but the splinters will catch fire. Obviously be careful. You can also drop the RH in a room pretty quickly with one, again be careful.
